Hi to All VVers who attended the Nats. As my health allowed me to fly to Mildura at short notice, and surprise most by my presence, as I was not expected. I would like to thanks you all for the reception I received from Wed. to Fri. , I felt like royalty, especially when my neice delivered me there each day in the Mercedes. The only problem I had was that I did not have time to inspect all vans nor have a chat to some of the van owners, and I am probably not the only one that experienced this. Many thanks to those who wished a health recovery for me in the coming months . Loretta and I hope to make Canungra our first van outing after completion of current treatment. Some of the VVers who left early may like a copy of the Sunraysia Daily Sat. 15th, I have 2 copies. The Mildura Weekly Fri. 14th I have 4 copies. So if you would like a copy PM me with your details and I will post the appropriate pages to you. First in 'best dressed' The vans with the most flair and presentation for me were the Roadhaven and Roadmaster vans, their builders just added that little extra in finish. Once again thank you all for making my few days with you so memorable and I like others look forward to 2012 Nats. Cheers boblor

Hi all, The Nationals got some great local (and not so local) press coverage, thanks to Firefighter's efforts to arrange it. For those that weren't there, or didn't see it: The Weekly Times, 5 May 2010, p 64:Mildura Weekly, 7 May 2010, p 24:Sunraysia Daily, 13 May 2010, p 8:Cobber asked the journalist why she was only taking pictures of the vehicles. She replied that the editor is only interested in cars, not caravans! Mildura Weekly, 14 May 2010, pp 1 & 16:There was a further article in the Sunraysia Daily on 15 May 2010, and also a nice item for 12 May 2010 on the Paparazzi's Somewhere Else website. Unfortunately, we didn't do so well in advertising the forum... One newspaper twice referred interested people to www.vintagecars.com, and another twice mentioned www.vintagecravans.com. I'm still trying to work out what a 'vintage cravan' might be. Don Ricardo

Hi all,
Finally got home after a leisurely drive and a few more pleasant stops. Now trying to finalise that DVD Firefighter mentioned. I want to include a group photo but we missed the sitting. Would someone be able to P.M. us if they are able to email a group photo?
Will also put up some photos after they've been downloaded onto photo bucket.

How many photos can you all handle.....I will try to put as many as I can on tonight. Re the numbers....Didja know there was as many Dons as there was Sunliners there 3 of each.....There was also 3 Roadhavens, 5 Roadmasters, but...6 Olympics....2 X21 footers, 3 X16 footers and 1 14 footer. OK enough statistics. In no particular order or preference....and maybe without a name Leighs Vauxhall Vagabond & Sportsman Marks 48/215 and newly acquired Don

The 5 Roadmasters looked a treat as did the 3 Roadhavens. Come to think of it, every van was a winner! As a nostalgic photo shoot, the dual combination of Rex Wallis, with his 1933 SS1 together with his 1940 Teardrop, really turned "back the years" Congrats to everyone who made Mildura such a great success. I can't believe Dad's form! When he rang me to tell me that he'd got his head in the local paper, all I could reply with was, "That'd be right, you didn't even do the hard work in getting the bloody van there" ;D Thank you on behave of not only myself but the olds as as well. We all had a great time and made lots of new friends and caught up with some that we haven't seen in a while. Really good time! 2012 = a full week off this time......! Thanks again. OK folks here are few more pics from the Nationals. There was a bit of discussion before we headed for Mildura about the locusts. Well we found them, or should I say they found us - both going and coming! In fact they loved us so much they insisted on coming along for the ride... After we'd cleaned ourselves up, we were able to take in the sights. I'll restrict the pics to vans that haven't been posted yet: The Kaybee's 1951 teardrop Raym's FE Holden ute and 2006 custom built 'Broadway' teardrop Bob&Jacqui's 1969 Olympic Riviera Part of the Roadmaster clan - if I haven't got them tagged correctly, please correct me: Hill's 1962 Roadmaster Myers' 1956 Roadmaster Lazza's 1963 Roadmaster and Mercury Cougar Errol & Linda's 1968 Roadmaster Dave01’s Roadhaven Mustang Pall’s 1969 Olympic Masso3’s Propert Marjie2’s 1956 Chesney Kingys’ 1955 Supalite Andrew82’s 1950’s custom built The Humptys’ fabulous ‘Janorma’ - don't you love the step? The Erwinmob’s 1950 teardrop Loretta2’s 1945 teardrop or is it Harris' 1948 teardrop? O’Beirne’s 1968 Escort One I didn’t get tagged, sorry Roehm3108’s Rubik’s Cube (AKA 1968 Propert) Urkel1965’s 1959 Sportline Dragonfly’s teardrop replica The Cobbers’ ever splendid Ol’ 36 Hillbilly’s 1958 Modern Skyline59’s 1968 Viscount Spyder's 1960 Sunliner Winterwood's 1964 Globe Trotter Jennison's 1953 Jennison Pathfinder (aluminium not galvanised tin - ask him the story ;D ;D ;D ) Bob F's 1970 Adelma Genteale's 1977 Adelma Douglass' 1977 Olympic Stardust Franklin1’s recently refurbished 1977 Millard Pontiac’s 1974 Franklin Don Ricardo

The Nats week went so fast, so much fun, so little time to enjoy. I am extremely happy Marjie2 (Ian & Robyn) got their FJ & Chesney home safely after the little repair job we did on Thurs arvo/night. I know what they went through with the Bedford in Mount Gambier with the heat, and subsequent. They told me they they did have a flat tyre near home!!. Also thanks to Larry and his Cauliflower, or is that Mayflower(!!) for giving my EJ a little jump start on Sat morning (must have been the cold morning). Geez, 730ish sleeps til the next Nats seems a long time away!! We South Aussies need to do a few things in between to help the time pass quicker. Cheers Steve

Thanks so much for these pics everyone. I was in and out so quickly I didn't get a chance to do photos so thanks for saving me! I would just like to add that I had the ONLY Carapark there. So come on the rest of you, get working now for the next one! Let's have Carapark/Astronaught land. It was really great to see everyone and it has reminded me to spend more time living the simple life and just talking to nice people and sharing silly stories. Bring on 2012! Mel and Bella

Yay !! .......arrived in Beverley last night after 7 great days vintage vanning accross Aus with friends. The FX performed faultlessly, and the little Don towed sweeeet After having the leaf springs on the FX reset in Mildura, and fitting a higher tounge to the towbar, the swaying probs I experienced between Wadonga and Mildura were all sorted . What a great event the Nationals were, I had a fantastic time ...... and it was great to meet many more members, and to renew old acquaintences Thanks to all concerned for making it such a great event. Pics of the journey accross aus to follow, Mark

G'day f/f, There are some photos of both the river cruise and one of the happy hour nights on that DVD Dave01 produced for us (isn't that DVD just one of the best mementos of "The Best vintagecaravan.com Nationals...... EVER! ? ) But.... I suppose you're asking somebody to put photos on the forum aye Cobber.
