G'day Geoff, Thanks for that update about what is being planed for Mildura.... it all sounds like extra good news ;D. The “Meander down the Murray” mob have just about finalised arrangements for a visit to the Lake Goldsmith Steam Rally that is on the weekend before Mildura so it looks like a great few weeks of Vintage Caravanning coming up in May . I am not too sure if I can make it now, have been a little slack with working on the van and now it is too damn HOT down here to do anything. I still have to paint it inside and out and fit the brakes to it,so heaps to do still. I will give it my best shot, just hope it gets a little cooler soon

I decided I will drag the van to the Nats with the EJ, so this weekend, I began to tweak a couple of little things so she runs smoothly on the trip!! Cheers

Hi Oldvannut, Welcome to the V V forum. Interesting to hear about your vans. Are you thinking of bringing one to the V V Nationals at Mildura? We're hoping there will be maybe 50+ vintage caravans, so it would give you a chance to catch up with a few of us, and it would be great to meet you as well. You're certainly very welcome. There are quite a few South Australian V V'ers on the forum, and I reckon that they could well be interested in a V V event somewhere on the York Peninsula. I'm a Victorian myself (don't hold that against me though) and I haven't been to the York Peninsula, but I have traveled fairly extensively around the south east of the state and the Eyre Peninsula for work, so from that I'm sure your part of the world is well worth a visit. Regarding the V V stickers, they are obtainable from Mark T who started the forum. Details are here. We're always happy for people to promote interest in the vintage caravan hobby and the forum. The money raised from the sale of the stickers and the V V calendars goes towards the cost of keeping the forum and Mark's V V website - so it's all for a good cause! How about telling us a bit more about your vans? Don Ricardo

hey old van nut, good to see another person from S.A we will have to look at organising a convy across there. I just had a look at the dates as I'm looking at booking leave for it and I noticed it's Monday to Friday any reason for this? it absolutely baffles me why you wouldn't have something like this coinciding with the weekend, like Thursday to Monday or something like that. Most people work Monday to Friday and that's why MOST things are organised on the weekend. Makes absolutely no sense to me. In saying this I'm still very keen to come across, it's just a pain that I have to book a full week off and can't take advantadge of the weekend time. I am moving house in Early april and need time off then to do so, so annual leave time will be low

Hi Andrew Your posting........ Makes absolutely no sense to me Its Monday to Friday........ BECAUSE ....it allows members sat/sun to arrive from all parts of australia the same for members returning home that can only have the week off from work At Mount Gambier members started ariving 3/4 days early and a lot stoped 3/4 days after the event was over and I was one of them .....and I will be early in to Mildura and stoping a few days after ......them going down to Swan Hill for a few days Andrew you don't have to come for all the 5 days ....if work gets in the way f/f ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Fire fighter, I have never heard of any sort of show being done in this way before, but listening to your reason I can see how it would make sense to alot of people. Thanks for clearing that up for me. Just had a look at the calender and by my count it's only 85 days to go! Oh dear! my van is no where near ready, it's going to be a dash to the finish that's for sure!

Sorry mate, you have miss read my reply, and re reading it myself I suppose it could have been taken either way. I am very happy with the way it is being run. I did think I made myself pretty clear though, I honestly havn't ever heard of any show / event being run in this way and I couldn't work out why. Now you have explained how it works it makes sense, and I think it's a good thing. I am one happy little Vegemite who's looking forward to coming across and being a part of it all ;D. Really sorry for the confusion . Hope this clears things up a bit.

I have booked in from Sun 9th, so if any of the SA clan are going that day, I could meet you at Yamba, and go from there (otherwise, I will go the shorter way through Ouyen). Steve

Found your site whilst looking up information on VV. We have just purchased a 1960 carapark which needs considerable work. We would be so interested in joining you all in Mildura in May and was wondering can we still join in the events even though this time around we probably won't have a van up and running but could stay in a cabin if there is one. Am so looking forward to the challenge and meeting everyone.
