Damn,
I am coming over in January, not October.
Perhaps I will leave the van there and come back over?
That wont work, I need it to go to Cowra.
I am also planning a tour around Queensland with the Vauxhall mob in 2013.
Where is my Tattslotto ticket again.
Leigh.

G'day team, I may be wrong....again but I think the FORUM started in 2004... Marks web site started in 2002......... it's OK, lets have a 10th anniversary for both but if I get over there without a caravan I bags a loan of Marks Land Cruiser...or the Big Beautiful Bondy, I'm flexible . Cobber.

G'day Noblesgarage, Daggsey, Ditzy and Mark, Good to hear the planning has started for the 10th Anniversary Run. I'm planning to be there, although I will be one of the ones arriving by 'sky caravan' unfortunately...unless I can hitch a ride with Cobber...as a stowaway hiding in the wardrobe of his van as he crosses the Nullabor... Checking out the 2004 Welcome thread started by Ditzy, I was surprised and pleased to see that all but one of the posters on that early thread are still part of the forum. Even Trev is still part of the forum via the annual run in his memory, and via Carrots of course. Not surprisingly, some of the early stirrers are still stirring! Speaking of early stirrers: Hey Reddo...my response to your post about the inflatable van (and its proposed constituent parts)... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Good to see you haven't lost your sense of humour! Don Ricardo

G'day Daggsey, You're worried about a few Easterners getting through border control and turning up to the party. I'm more worried about the party being invaded by people who may have turned to the darkside...or is that the "white-goods-side": .........when ya buy a modern van and am embarassed to tell anyone ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Don't worry, we'll behave ourselves providing you don't bring the stove-on-wheels! Memo to Eastern states V V'ers:Dona Ricardo and I are just back from our mission behind the WA lines, to do some forward planning for the Eastern V V invasion in October 2012. It all went very smoothly. The trip via sky caravan was pretty easy to accomplish going over, but coming back the sky caravan driver had to take some evasive moves to avoid dust thrown into the air by the WA'ers colleagues in Chile. Fortunately we got home safely, only 10 minutes late. I was a bit worried when we were disembarking in the WA capital because the WA Border Control people patrol the border with sniffer dogs. I thought the dogs might pick up the smell of bondwood on our clothes. Fortunately they don't seem to have been trained for that and we were able to sneak over the border without any trouble. I'm not too sure whether or not the sniffer dogs can pick up the smell of aluminium cladding or fibreglass though. When you're going, it may be a wise precaution to stick some pieces of vintage bondwood in your socks, just to put the dogs off the scent. Once we got over the border, we got on really well and didn't have any trouble getting around. We even managed to get into vintagecaravans.com Headquarters, and caught up with V V Supremo Mark T (that's him on the left): We found the WA locals to be a friendly lot, and Dona Ricardo and I reckon that they will treat us really well at the 10th Anniversary Run, even if they are being invaded. Only problem with WA is that, although we travelled about 1,200 kms or so around the southern part of WA, you see hardly any V V's there. Some locals told us that is because they have all been rounded up and impounded at a shed in Beverley... We actually saw a couple of Baravans in the wild but couldn't stop to photograph them because we were being followed by a couple of sinister looking chaps in hats.* OK, so everything looks set for the invasion. Start getting yourselves ready. If you have any questions about tactics or strategy, we have another couple of spies in WA at the moment (code names Kingy and Mez). They've been there so long that the WA'ers have begun to think that they are one of them. Sort of like a V V sleeper cell... This information is highly confidential. Avoid any WA V V'ers reading it at any cost, otherwise they may strengthen the border patrols... Don Ricardo ;D ;D ;D * Oh alright, the vans were too far away to photograph properly, but almost everything else in this report is true! Dinkum!

have finally found my way back to the site, hello one & all, my tow car has been off road for so long I am having withdrawal symptoms & still loads more work to do, but anyway I am reading about this big anniversary event in WA in October and wondered if anyone was aware that Harvey Dickson's Country Music Centre out at Boyup Brook is holding a 1o yr anniversary event which includes a rodeo combined with a display of vintage cars, trucks, utes & motorbikes AND this year caravanners with vintage units are invited to attend it is to be held on Saturday the 30th October I do not know any more as am waiting for the contact person to return my call.
