Hi everyone, Love the website! :DLove the website! :DLove the website! :)Love the website! Love the website! Love the website! Love the website! :)Love the website! Love the website! Here are some pics of the caravan I bought last weekend. It has been for sale in a sheep paddock for the last month and I have had to drive past it everyday!! (Drooling of course). Finally got up the nerve to have a look inside and instantly fell in love. ;D ;D ;D Table drops down at the front for a single bed and the lounge drops for a double bed. Needs a new door, internal roof lining and some external roof repair. Now I can't wait to get started!! Wish me luck!!! ;D ;D Here's some pics

Ok............ now I am really excited................ she is Ditzy's cousin.......................... ( check my post under general section). Other than the modernising I can see a real resamblance. I am kind of sorry that Ditzy was not so oringinal when I got her............. ( the previous owners did some cabinet work......... and changed her sink and added electrics.) Now I can see what she would have been like.............
But you got to love the portholes.

Stewie
What is the length of your van? Also if you look inside the door, on the wall to the right (side ofthe cupboard) there should be a metal plate ( or evidence there was one). with a make , date of manufacture and address of maker.

Well even without the manufacturer's plate I would take the guess that your caravan and my caravan are both Convairs. Though I would hazzard a guess that yours is older. Other than the info I got from the plate there is nothing much more I know and I cannot find any info on the manufacturer either. Ditzy has been gutted at some time and modernised ( I just added the unicorn etc) but I can see the similarities. I have the same floor plan but the sink area has been extended and one seat removed. I love my "Ditzy" van. I hope you get as much fun out of yours. Oh and I still show off the inside of her to anyone who sets foot on the property.

Hi Ditzy and Stewie,
Do you know what kind of vans these are?
I am wondering if they could be early Baravans. The woodwork inside looks familiar as does the porthole. Even the cupboard hinges.
Pull out a draw and look for pencil marks. Each draw will have numbers on it, maybe we could do a handwriting analysis.

Hey Stewie
The underside of those blue mattresses wouldn't be bright yellow by any chance would they?

no John .....ther're not Baravans .....they were manufactured in Queenstown, South Australia by a company called "Convair Caravans". Their address was 1164B Old Port Road, Queenstown......."Ditzy" is a 1963 model.
