Only 1008 were ever made.
Lovely example of a classic R Series.

hi all, in the top photo of this thread the rh tailight of an s series valiant can be seen, it belongs to a close friend of mine, whilst on a club run travelling at 8okph a truck spun out of control into its path, the truck was also doing 80kph, the result being basically a head on smash. lil and i arrived seconds later to a shocking scene, two people in critical condition, the passenger trapped.two hours and the roof being removed finally saw her free..both airlifted to hospital thankfully they both survived, but both with permanent injuries. that was seven months ago.the car was fitted with lap belts only and now on reflection both occupants feel they survived because of the stuctural strength in the old val. this incident was relayed to fletch of classic restos fame at the latest chryslers on the murray who prompty interviewed them.. they,d arrived in another s series...that interview will be screened next thurs night 15th of may...photos lil took at the scene will be shown briefly, fletch looking at their passion and courage to get behind the wheel of an old val again, and to emphasize the road safety aspect....to his and everyone,s amazement no charges have been laid..... stay safe dave.
