OOOOhhhhhhhh!!! Love the camoflage colour... comando style!! ;D I have just been sent some photocopies of original adds etc with dates on them... From what i can tell they started production 1958/1959 with wrap front windows (look at ours) and then went to two front windows (one fixed and one opens!!?? )from the add the one pictured looks like the add from 1964. I can email you the adds if you like.. Good to see another one- so far there is 5 in our area, 7 near Newcastle......wow and thats just the ones i've come across... Deb

To date the sunliner look on top of the chasis about a foot back from the coupling (sand all the paint away). It can be on either side. the number will read YYMM x number of van. Looks like my 64 Sunliner

Look hard to find a 5 in front of that 9. Then we can say for sure that it is 12/59 or...5912. I have dated 3 so far with that system. Good luck with the restoration, you have a big job ahead of you there. I am starting to sand one back now , but I am not sure what to undercoat it with as some of the Gel coat has been eroded with time. I would like to use automotive acrylic to finish it with

Dennis, So far I have only done the door, using conventional Filler/primer, spray putty and Acrylic Lacquer. The finished result was good. My main concern was for any reaction with old "substances". I am going to see what happens when I try to paint over the existing undercoat, after sanding it back. I may need a barrier coat. Oh and by the way I like it standard. It will be Off white with a Red flash and Holden 13 inch rims. The interior is good enough not to be touched, but some new Lino would help.
