Yeah, and Karen has just rung me back to clarify something.Anyone that is planning to arrive early on Saturday (or any day ), better not be to early. The office opens at 8.30am, so if you arrive before then you won't be able to get through the boom gates, you need to book in and be given a pass. Not a problem if you are aware of this, but a bit embarrassing if you get up at the crack of dawn to arrive early and then have to sit outside ;D ;D

We (kfisher) have just confirmed our reservation for the two sites with the park. They didn't need a deposit so far.
Something interesting that she sent in the confirmation email was:
"With regard to arrival and departure times, arrivals are generally from 1pm onward and departure of 10.30am, however, I can offer you an earlier check in of no earlier than 11am (as current bookings do not have to leave until 10.30am)....and we are happy to offer your club members a late departure time of 3pm at no charge."

Hello everyone, I just thought I'd pass on some info I got from Karen and Charlie today about our upcoming stay at Glen Cromie over Father's Day. They have let us know that so far all of the 11 sites set aside are reserved, which is fantastic, and Karen has told us that any additional people who want to come she'll do her best to squeeze in. Most people are showing up Friday, and staying through to Monday. She and Charlie have also reserved Shelter 1 for our exclusive use over the weekend. They are also arranging for us to have a fire pit next to it and a barrow of wood as well for free - we can bring more of our own wood to keep it stoked up, or we can purchase some there if we want more. Now that is hospitality! They have also made changes to the arrival times. Normal arrival time (either Friday or Saturday) is 1pm but they have made arrangements for us to have our sites at 11am. I think a few guests are coming a bit earlier at 8:30am for a special fee. Similarly, check out is normally 10:30am but they are extending it for us to 3pm on either Sunday or Monday (depending on your departure date), so everyone can have a nice morning, and even lunch before packing up for home. The shelter they have set aside for us has a 20ft table with a bench seat on one side, and there is a barbeque that runs on dollar coins next to it. I was wondering if everyone wanted to have a get together on Saturday night - sort of a social? We could meet at 5:30 for some drinks and nibbles, get the campfire going, cook our own BYO meat on the BBQ, and bring a plate to share with everyone. How many people would be interested in that? If so we can work out who wants to bring what to make sure it's not all salads! Cheers Seeshell

Hi WB4BB I think a few sites have been booked without a note here, which doesn't matter really. Karen tells me they're all gone now - should be a great outing. Let's hope we get some nice weather. Cheers Carley

Hi All Well it looks like we will be in with luck for the Father's Day weekend away in Vic! Clearly the slab I left in the forecast rooms at the Bureau was well received... Friday, 19 with light showers. Saturday, 23 and sunny Sunday, 25 and mostly sunny Monday, 24, sunny and light winds. Should mean our Saturday night get together/nibbles/group dinner (whatever ends up happening) will be lovely - rather than the cold and miserable evenings of late! Breaking out the T-shirts, Seeshell

So where are the reports and pics guys? ...so where were you? ;D....surely you could have hobbled across for a visit? ;D .....seriously though ,it was a good event and thanks to Seeshell for making it all happen and also getting us some good weather ( yeah,I know I said there'd be no Weather Bureau digs....but I fibbed ;D))......not a huge turnout but sometimes the smaller events are the best ones , and certainly everyone got on well and enjoyed themselves. We were "blessed" with a surprise visit from Ray Roehm on his way back from SA, he was able to find the time to make a big detour to Glencromie and join in with us lot.....A good few of us jumped out of bed early on Sunday and made the trip across country to the swap meet at Nyora , picked up a few treasures too , which made it all worthwhile.....I didn't take any pics of either event 'coz I didn't take the camera ,so that part will have to be up to someone else to satisfy your request, and thanks again to Carley for a job well done ,cheers, Col.
