Got this snap yesterday whilst on the way to Toowoomba. Anybody ever heard of an Aristocrat? Is it related to the Carapark? Unfortunately it's completely gutted inside. Spoke to the farmer on whose property this van stands, and he told me that the local policeman was going to refurbish it as a mobile workshop, of all things!!! Of course the policeman moved a few years ago. Ray

Ray, Aristocrat made aluminium vans in WA from about 1966 to 1970. The pictures I have of Aristocrats are more the rounded type of van It certainly does look like a Carapark I will keep looking. Regards John

I will just add a point of history in here. Carapark had a source of rounded corner pressed or spun aluminium corner pieces. My dad was never able to find out where they got them, but it was thought they got them from an aircraft manufacturer. In any event Carapark caravans are fairly distinctive by the square box look with the rounded 3D corners. At least from about the 60s onward.

in 1967 carapark was taken over by motels of australia! they, carapark! had several very good motel sites and I reckon that is why they were taken over. the rights to make "caraparks" or similar designs were sold to the various state distributors. hope this helps
