Hi Doug. Friday night 3rd May is completely optional for tour participants. If you opt for Quirindi ,you're up and running early for the markets/swap? and festival proceedings on the Saturday.....can even put your rig in the festival procession if you like!! As I understand it, old mate at Fossickers Way C P at Nundle can't / won't guarantee a powered site for just the one night, but will accommodate visitors for 2 nights or more. We've elected to stay at Nundle and drive the 50/60 km back over to Quirindi on the Saturday morning. Don't know what camping conditions are like at Quirindi but Rob and Cathy stayed there on the way home from the Nats and from memory they said it was pretty good. Completely up to the individual , which ever way you want to go. I don't see splitting the group for one night as a problem. Just goes to show how easy/relaxed/ flexible these tours are. No rules. No pressure to conform . Just do whatever tickles ya fancy , so to speak. Cheers Sutcac ;D

Hi Stacey Glad to hear that. Sounds like its gunna b fun!
Doug, the camp ground at Quirindi is beside the showground, under big old trees with enough space for about 12 vans. Slabs for vans, great amenities very clean, close to vans. The caretaker mentioned that JBJ & Stacey's lot have booked in.
But as Sutcac said...if you're coming, better book in. The great thing about these outback places is that no money has been asked for as yet so it's still possible to change plans.

Hi Stace and Brendo. Well, it looks like we've got the camp oven cooking taken care of on tour !! Richard (Dicky) sure knows how to organize the camp oven gear . And Graham cooked up one of the best ever casseroles at Imbil,if my taste buds remember correctly!!! ? Things are shaping up for a top tour. Only 46 sleeps to go!

Well went to do the bookings, all booked in up to Nundle (booked at Quirindi figured I would take the punt on no power at Nundle), and then Nundle says they won't book a single night at all for that weekend ..... Did offer to take two nights payment for one night though - don't think I'll be taking that offer up! Has everyone else other than Reddo, and Clyde and Barb, booked for one night at Nundle? (If so, can you PM me the names I can't remember everyone's surname!) If I can't stay one night at Nundle, then I might ring back Quirindi and book for two nights there and drive over for the day at Nundle. I hate the greed factor! Also, has anyone thought about an overnight stop on the way back to Brisbane??? Cheers Doug

Yo... Sorry about my silence. My computer copped a bug about 2 weeks back and i have been out of the loop with all the goings on. That issue with Nundle is a real downer. Just because the place has a stack of things going on he can bung terms and conditions on and have us by the short and curlys.... I booked in last year for friday and saturday night this year as i was driving out of the bike rally weekend..always do so i know i have a powered site for the bike rally weekend. Use to have a 6 berth cabin but let it slide for one year... now i have no jhope of getting it back. At that the time Sootys Toads and roaches tour hadnt even been hatched. As Clyde and others have mentioned these tours are never hard and fast rules. Just pick the eyes out of whats on offer and book in when and whereever ya like... i am sure you will have a good time no matter how many days you have away from home/work... Not long now... Pam and John... if you are reading this can ya send me an email or phone me and let me know what you guys are doing?? .. and what parks you have booked into.. I will head back here and mention it.. or send Sutcac a pm so he can modify the attendees list....too easy.. I will probably stay at Walcha on anzac day evening and rock into Tenterfield on Friday . Have a few days sight seeing around the back blocks before we set sail on the monday.. Its allllllll good. Regards Reddo I had a few well chosen words with Heath the manager thinking i might have swayed his decision by garaunteeing at least 6 vans in for 2 nights....he was agreeable to that...

Hi All, Ok well it's like this. We can't do the whole "Toads and Roaches" trip as we are already taking leave to go away on a Cruise. But as we would hate to completely miss out - please count us in on the Tenterfield weekend portion of this run - thanks. I have already phoned Julie & Jim and booked in. We will be arriving in Tenterfield on either the Wednesday or Thursday - is anyone else going to be there that early??? Regards Di & Paul

Sounds like I'll have to twist Rob's arm & get him to bring the mini Brute 12volt chainsaw. Hook her up to a cars battery & she quietly goes about the job of getting firewood without making a big ruckus!
Can someone bring a shovel for camp ovens tho as we can't fit it in! Well bring our medium size 12" camp oven.
Only 18 sleeps hey?

Can we go via Texas?? I have a freshly sharpened Stihl 024 chainsaw just itchin for a massacre. Also noticed a stack of harwood pallets with a " free firewood" sign on em just up the road a bit.... So... Will slice and dice a few pallets ta get us through the first cookathon/ sub zero night. Bloke i had lined up to take my Norton to Nundle for the rally has pulled the pin :-/on the rally .. sooooo... looks a bit like i will have to ring the Nundle van park manager and see if its OK to leave the bike there ....and drop it off on the way to Tenterfield. Dont wanna cart it all over the state on the T&R tour. That might mean i wont be haulin a whole stack of wood with me... ( tailgate dont shut with the bike in the back of a Ford Ranger 4x4 spacecab) .. i'll bring what i can. Happy to scamper about each arvo on the tour and chase up wood. Been doin a bit of prep work on the van .. Cant wait.. cant wait...will bring egg flip to scrape up fresh roadkill for the camp oven................Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmooooo !!! Reddingostew ;D ;D ;D ;D
