2013 'TOADS AND ROACHES'.......Off the beaten track tour!!! Ok vintage vanners, here's a proposed tour for SEQers,NSWelshmen, Mexicans and anyone else who may be interested! Wed 1st May.....southwards towards Coonamble,Gulargambone,Gilgandra(190km) Thurs 2nd.....headback NWthrough Tooraweenah,Argyle, and up through the Warrumbungle National Park and on to Coonabarabran........through Ulamambri,.... If you like powered sites with slabs / ensuites..swimming pools...beaches etc, then this tour may not be for you!! On the other hand , if you don't mind roughing it a bit for a night, eating camp oven tucker, trundling through small towns in out of the way places that you would normally not visit, and enjoying great comradarie while 'on the wallaby'.....then this tour may be right up your alley!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cheers Sutcac, on behalf of Smiles , Cruising Doug, Reddo ,.....and other tour schemers!!!!!!

Bloody Bewdy Sooty.... Thanks heaps for your efforts on the tellingbone organising the nightly stops... Some great spots there.. Have stayed at Bingara and the riverside camp spots are great. Might be a bit hard smacking tent pegs into the river stones ... but its only an overnight and no need for annexes anyway. Been donkeys since i have been to Premer.. use to go roo shooting out that way. I think Qurindi has a 2 day swap meet / markets/ type bizzo on the day we move out of there.. Nundle is only an hour or so up the road so no rush to get away . Bikes are at Nundle fri , sat , sund.. so i will probably bolt from Qurindi at sparras .. so i can get a ride in on the saturday . Have a bloke orgainsed to tale the '37 Ariel up there on his trailer so i dont have to cart it around on the tour.... so..... anyone considering coming on the tour... I suggest ya do a bit of haggling with your boss and get some annual leave organised.. this tour is gunna be a ripper.... Invite a toad or raoch friend to tag along...Geez .. i am glad it wont be a State of origin week while we are away.... Things could have got "Ugly"...... ;D Cheers fa now Reddo

Yo.. Rang Tenterfield... bloke i spoke to was a bit vague on it.. need to phone back tomorrow wednesday 13/2 and speak to Jill. all good. He knew we where coming but wasnt sure on what area Jill has set aside for us. Will get back to you when i have spoken with Jill. Gilgandra... all sweet.. told him that there will be a few more phoning through in the next month or so... Bingara and Piliga isnt an issue.. free camps. I wont be staying at Qurindi on The friday night.. have rang Nundle and it appears i booked my sacred site when i was leaving there after the bike rally last year... i am booked in for fri and sat nights.... powered site next to the camp kitchen. Had a yarn with Heath the manager. I asked if he could slot the rest of the V.Vans in near the camp kitchen and keep as one group on saturday night?? No go. He wont hold powered sites for just the one night... well not 5 or 6 anyway... Said that if you turn up for just sat night you will be put on an unpowered site...which from memory is a bit of a walk from the ammenities... I asked if he would reconsider his stance if we all turned up Friday and stayed 2 nights.... Yes... he would but we would need to ring and confirm bookings well in advance. So... i will leave that decision to you guys. Once again... park manager greed overuling common sense .. and the likelyhood of getting bad publicity from us vintage vanners wherever we may roam... Cheers for now Reddo.

Definitely can't make it on the toads and roaches tour .....it was a hard choice (Lie) but my mate won a week, first class return trip gamefishing in the bahamas first week in May!!!! His wife said not interested so looks like I am forced ;D to do the right thing and go with him. Brochure says must bring dinner suit for dining at Hotel each night!! Best dressed "FISHER-MON" in town ;D ;D ;D Off to renew passport tomorrow Hoping the new bionic arm/shoulder will take it OK ...don't care if it doesn't, still going!! jenno

"I am not gunna submitt a leave form if the wheels have fallen of our planned trip" Hey there Reddo. Wheels are firmly affixed, greased up and ready to go!!! Don't panic mate ! Don't panic! :oThe Blues paniced and changed coaches for the state of origin , and where did it get them??? ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Seriously though, even though the tour is a fair way off. we should all think about making a few Phone calls to the CP's listed above......that way they know we're fair dinkum and it may help them keep us together as a group. I rang and booked our stays at the various parks today. We've decided to stay the two nights at Nundle (Fri/Sat) to secure a powered site close to the camp kitchen. It's such a great little park with the big fire pit and great kitchen/amenities........we'll just drive over to Quirindi for the festival activities on the Saturday morning. Only eleven or so powered sites remaining here at Nundle so best you'all book that one sooner rather than later 'cause that weekend is one of their busiest with Reddos motorcycle rally and the big Dawg Day on the same weekend. Tenterfield and Gilgandra are not so urgent, but the sooner you book , the easier it is for them to try to keep us all together as a group. So far the definites are: Reddo....booked Sutcacs....booked JBJ & Boots......booked Neil and Cheryl............ Brendan and Stacey......booked John and Pam................ " Smiles(Rob and Cathy)........ " Stacey's Dad, Graham........................" Richard and Shirley...................." David and Lyn( Nundle only) .....so there ya go guys....shaping up to be a beaut little tour ......aahhhhhh ....I can just feel the warmth of that open Autumn fire already........... ...........only 55 days to go!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D

Hi Sutcac
We're booked in to all the parks. Now I have to extract a digit & try to finish of "Ethels" rebuild, so we can tow with our Statesman .
But I can always tow Deejay behind my hotrod if need be, its just a bit cold up in the hills that time of year, with no windows or heater in our hotrod.
Roll on the tour

Thursday will be Anzac Day... Friday is a RDO at work...5 days annual leave plus a few weekends thrown in equates to 11 days off. Probably hang around Anzac day morning and go to one of the memorial services . Then head home hook up the vn and head north via Gloucester ....up through thunderbolts way to Walcha and ,, depending on time of day i might get as far as Uralla. Stay the night up around there somewhere and rock on in to T.F mid to late Friday morning. Towcar will be 2008 Ford Ranger Spacecab 4x4 ... Van will be..... ... .... Stay tuned, Cheers Reddo

We're staying at Quirindi Friday 3/5 & I think a couple of others are too. We've booked into Nundle for Sat & Sun.
At Tenterfield they're putting us up the top between amenities & camp kitchen so don't delay if you want to be with the vv mob. Same with Nundle, sites are filling fast near the camp kitchen.
Hey Stacey, one of the places Nundle I think, mentioned you booked 3 sites. Hope that's right!
