Well I guess it is high time I fess up to what I have done as you all know "STU" was sold off and sometime down the track the sad excuse I have for a Don will be going to a new home also, WHY? you may well ask, well the astute of you here in VV land will probably have worked it out and those that haven't are most likely waiting patiently for information, weeellllllll as you may be aware a certain van was rescued not so long ago and a certain Forum member had bagged it, well here it is, all I need do now is retrieve it.

Thanks Geoff & Jude, pics will be forth coming (when I have some) whilst at Cowra I did make mention to 1 or 2 people the number of plastic fantastic vans and that I would be looking to something more out of the norm, well when jennison first found this van I was smitten, just loved everything about it and as Jenno's mate who helped with the rescue said "I think it will look good behind an FJ" yeah me to.

Yep, it is a unique van. It will be a big resto but am sure worth it in the end. As Derk said, it is funny as I had made no mention to Harvey who helped me collect it that the prospective new owner had an FJ. He came out with it by himself and I think his comment is spot on. A perfect match for Humpys' ute. jenno

Well done Derk! I looked long and hard at this one myself thinking it would look perfect behind the ute - I guess you agree ... I ended up not persuing it as my "to do" list has no more room at the bottom of it Looking forward to seeing this one done, especially after the work you did on Stu. Cheers Doug

Retrieval date set! all being well I will leave with my mate late Friday night to arrive at jenno's place early Saturday morning, load it up and come home, will be a long day but I can wake Sunday look out the window and see it sitting in my yard my mate has insisted we take his little truck rather than the work Fowlcan as the roos might bounce off the front better ;D should we encounter any, stay tuned for pics.

Hi Humpty, You'll find what you're looking for in the Down History Lane section here. It's listed in the DHL index under 'Roadcruiser [NSW]' because one of the vans is registered as a Roadcruiser. I can't think of another better way of listing it, so any suggestions are welcome. Before 'Roadcruiser' I had it listed as 'Unidentified fibreglass caravan' but people couldn't find it. Don't know why... ;D ;D ;D Don Ricardo

Woo Hoo !! it's home, left home at 10.30 pm Friday for my mates, quick cup of coffee and out the door at midnight, had a very good run up to Jenno's arriving around 8.30 am, another quick cuppa then outside to load up, only hicup was the uprights for the spare wheels on the trailer but a grinder and small generator soon sorted that out, all loaded and strapped down so time for yet another cuppa left Jenno's around 10.30 or there abouts and headed back home, arrived back here in my yard just on 7.30pm. Van is still sitting on the trailer so that is my job tomorrow, and after I've done that and had a little rest I'll download and upload some pics. Oh yeah and the ROO's spotted 11 or 12 of them all pre hit for us ;D

Pictures Pictures Pictures, here they are. Arrival at jenno's. My mates little truck. makes a good tow vehicle ;D The hookup. Approaching the trailer where we find the spare wheels are in the way. What's left after having to remove the spare wheels. The load up. Not a lot of room, glad the axle wasn't any longer. Ready to unload. You've heard of the Hutchinson's Dolly Wheel, well here's the humpyboy(sons)version. Back on Terra Firma. Spent a bit of time this arvo putting some bits back. Had a little look around inside and found the sagging cupboards like another member had in their Olympic I think it was. The sink and water pump. And check this out!! after only two pumps. I was lead to believe that there were no leaks in this van but look what I found ;D must have been saving this for a special occasion ;D All in all I'm happy with what I've got, work wont start for some time yet but that will give me a lot of planning time before I start doing anything.

Gonna be one of the best looking FJ van combos around I reckon when she is done jenno PS Shoulda read the fineprint Humpy...I said the drawer was waterproof I'm sure ;D

and AND AND!!!!!!! As much as I could find, but proof enough if you ask me. Hi Humpyboy, That's an exceptionally exciting find. When we first heard about these vans there was a suggestion that they didn't have a name, and that the owner of one of them had just called it a Roadcruiser for rego purposes. However, it's looking to me now as if the vans (all of them) may have been called Roadcruisers, and if that's not the case, then at the very least several of them were. You've uncovered (literally! ;D ;D ;D) another piece of the puzzle! Excellent to see a bit of the (I presume) original livery. Turns out your Roadcruiser was just impersonating a big green shed...
