Dear Dave,
The news of Ilse passing away is a bit of a shock to everyone, but she has fought a great battle that eventually she got tied of and it took her away from us. If you have ever been close to someone that has fought the battle of cancer, it takes a lot of their energy, perservance, persistance and all of their efforts. She fought a great battle, but everyone was very lucky and privledged to know Ilse as we were. Ilse was a lovely person, very positive, warm natured and Dave you were very lucky to find her and to have time with her. Just remember the good times in everything you folks did, VV family, cars, everything around you and your families did and it will pull you through. Our thoughts are with you and the families during this hard time but we are there in the background if ever need us. Keep in touch with us all, as we are all there for you. Remember you will time to grieve as well but remember the good times that will pull you through.
John, Lynne, Tamara De Groot

Hi Everyone, I have a suggestion for an event for 14 & 15 July 2012, The Samford Show is on and we are allowed to camp there on the Saturday Night. John & I go every year, we show our cars, and I mentioned about the Vintage Caravans and Trevor was very interested. The contact person is Trevor Taylor Phone number 3289 6294. He will be able to advise you of the space he has available. It is a great two days, fireworks on Saturday night at about 7.30pm, riding events, dogs, the bikes jumping over the big jump which is awesome. If anyone is a bit crafty and would like to enter into the cake cooking competition, or painting, or growing vegetables, have a look at the Samford show website and check it out. We will see you there if possible. John & Lynne Read more: vintagecaravans.proboards.com/index.cgi#ixzz1w4I8piRm

Great photos Neil & Cheryl. I went for a ride in the hot rod with a younger gent at least 75 years old and he gave the accelator a touch and we were doing 85mph for a short while- a great blast. Just to show us what a Chev motor will do - very impressive.
Another great weekend, great people, great company, great cars, next year the Easter weekend is at Millmerran for the 10th year and there will be a bigger celebration next year and the next year Rods Inc are holding the Nationals at the Gold Coast and no Millmerran event.
As Cheryl & Neil mentioned the patchwork shop was burnt down, a collection went around for them and they collected roughly over $1000.00 to give to the shop owners.
Also earlier this year the a couple of hot rod clubs did a collection and gathered close to $50,000.00 goods and furniture and took it out to Grantham for the people out there. What an effort in fundraising. This year's money went to the Girl Guides for their association.
Well another great weekend and see you at May weekend. Yahh.
I liked Elise's and Dave's Space Odessy - something different. Gee I wonder what they are going to turn up with next???
Congratulations to John & Di for being in top 5 with their Chev. Yahh

Well another Vauxhall saved from going to the tip.
John has had his Vauxhall since he was 17 years old and he is now 57 years old (shh).
As Leigh said join the Vauxhall club for the parts as we have.
We have a few Vauxhalls as well, not as many as Leigh.
We have had a change of cars as well and have bought a 1957 Chev for a tow vehicle as well as the 1971 F100.
Enjoy your Vaux it will look after you, if you look after it.

We have been to this event for say about the last five - six years and it is great live entertainment show starting about 1.00 / 2.00pm till 9.00 pm and then fireworks at 9.00pm. But will advise of the timings once we receive the schedule.
It is getting bigger and bigger.
We haven't received our application form as yet, but we will be there. It rained a bit last year but it still went ahead.

Hi Reddo,
If you are in the area, why not put in your Reddotel Coledale King of the Mountain machine!!!
John and I will be going and there is another run to Maroochydore the following weekend, if I remember correctly. so you can do two weekends at Qld and see lots of members.

Hi people, did you know that there is different types of boost pressure in these units , of vh44 . Like the morris did have a greater pressure unit than the holden ete , so there are different types of vh44 out there with different pressure units in these . I found this out from Bill Winstone , who servised these units . So not all vh44 are the same if you pick them up ,John.

Hi, I have received a reply form Paul regarding Garterbelts & Gasoline Nostalgia - Greetings John & Lynne, So very nice to hear from you. I would love to see some cool vintage caravans at GarterBelts & Gasoline. Where i am at right now is any caravans can stay at the Tamborine Caravan & Camping grounds. The grounds are about 10 mins from all venues that will be hosting events. here is the website which is also on the GB&G website under links / accomadation My understanding is the cost is around $12 per night per adult for a powered site. i believe there are showers ect at the grounds. Now the ultimate aim is to be able to allow you guys to stay at the Tamborine show grounds where the Hot Rod Carnivale will be held on the Sunday and the Art Exhibition will be run for the four days. I am not sure if i will have permission by April but i am working on it. If i can pull this off you will be able to say right in the thick of things. The cost would be around $20 per van per night. I will keep you posted, any idea what number of Vintage Vanners may be coming? Car entry into the Carnivale on the Sunday is free Classic cars are most welcome. Adults are $15 and kids under 12 are free Ticket prices for the rest of the entertainment will be released this week. There will also be some forms released this week. Hi,
I have sent an email away just now to Paul regarding more information as to where the vans will be parked, fees, facilities, power, cars etc.
When I receive an email back, I will post this onto the forum for more information if anyone else want to go. We will be going for Saturday, Sunday, Monday.
Thanks Mark T for your information. I had read about this in the Cruisin Magazine, but hadn't done anyting about it.
