We have found that caravanning is not for us, so my 1967 Olympic is on the market. It has dual gel batteries and a solar panel. I redid 1/2 the floor (it had water damage when I purchased it) and changed it back to double single beds. You can use as is or there is scope to restore to original specs. I paid $5000. I am asking $5000.
The van is located in Wandering, Western Australia - not far out of Perth. PM me if interested.
You can get water based enamels, pastel crayons, and artist oil paints..... all rubbish. It does not get the hard finish of true enamel either..... and doesn't smell right.

Great work. I love the jarrah chassis. My father was a car and wagon builder so this early wood panel work gives me a warm glow. The drawbar is jarrah as you said. Are the A frame pieces jarrah as well?
You could also say Sunliners are too common, yet they are as popular as ever and still in great demand.
If you bother to check DHL, this particular van is one of very few in known existence!!! 3.6, means 3.6 metres. It is NOT the Riviera size. At the offered price, what more are people looking for No wonder they end up on ebay
Heck R, keep yr nickers on. It was an off the cuff comment related to Atog's comment "these things are cropping up everywhere" - I wasn't seriously saying they are common. Neither would I care if they were. Its a great little van and I would love to own it.... but I have my Olympic and certainly can't afford another. I would love on to work one from scratch now I understand a bit more.

Back windows must be an area of weakness - my back window was sealed up permanently when I got the van (still is). That looks like it was built without a window at all ... or its a good fiberglass job Wish it was a good photo.
Was also contemplating whether to change the two single beds to a double, lifting the bed up higher to get extra storage underneath the bed, but I'm not sure i really want to as I don't want to lose the feel of the original vintage van features. Think I'll sit on this for a while and have a good think about it.
I just changed my double back to two singles. A double is romantic and all but in small vans the person on the inside usually has to crawl over the person on the outside to get up. And we need a queen size as a minimum... a double is too small for us. Two singles makes for much better sleep. I was going to lift the beds to make more storage but didn't want the temptation of overloading the back end of the van.

Thanks ATOG. I have a ratchet jockey wheel I bought off a member here (can't remember who... sorry to whoever it was). There is no clamp for it to fit on the van though. I am hoping I can buy a clamp on one (I have never learned to weld) and fit the "removable" ratchet jockey wheel.
Bugga - I really like the ease of the swing jockey wheel.

OK, I have my sway bars. I got the double bar set that ATOG posted a link to. Now I have to fit them. I have posted a pic below. It looks to me like I have to lose my fixed rotating jockey wheel and put on a removable one. I may also be in trouble with my gas bottle and spare wheel assembly. I can't do much at the moment anyway as I haven't even a spanner big enough to get my towball off. Even that electrical plug on the side has me nervous.
Help! cheers, Bill

Just a comment on buying - when someone says "I will have to research it" come back with what you would be prepared to pay (or less if you like bartering games..... often they put a reluctant seller off). That way you get a decision on the spot or reasonably quickly. If it takes more than a few days the outcome is seldom good for the buyer - particularly when sons/daughters get involved. They are usually too protective and want to make an impression.
In this case I would be thinking "what's happening under the cladding".
