Hi Gordon
The clue to all wooden pegs is to boil them in plain water for awhile to remove the tannins from the wood (usually pine) that can leave brown stains on the wet washing when it's pegged out (if you don't pre boil them). But I bet you knew that!
The flat ones are called Dolly Pegs as they were dressed up as little dolls & faces painted on the flat top. Guess they were cheap toys for kids in past eras when kids didn't expect so much. I still have my MIL's sewing basket with half completed 'dollies' . The big pine tongs are for pulling the washing out of the boiling hot copper.

SMILES: Being in the vehicle detailing game (30 years & been working 47 years) the bleach i use is trade quality so there`s no foreign material left on the pegs. Two of the dolly pegs in the collection wore remnants of being toy doll at some time. IRIS:100 suitcases! Geez i`d hate to be the one to go looking for a particular piece of material. Or button for that matter. At least we all know who has all the vin tea towel material now! May as well add this Hecla Boilo ceramic jug which allows for poaching eggs in the 3 tier basket or insert the ali jug & boil milk/cook stew etc. 4 pound 17 shillings & 6d according to the 1958 chrissy ad. gordon
