It is Tasmania. West Coast. Not an Island, but it's the mainland Island of Tasmania!

Thought it was Aurthur river. We were there about a week ago but did not see the plaque. Have some photos of the area as the firefighters were still putting out fires with helicopters.can't do photo bucket while on the road so I'll pass it over to someone else.
Cheers Bob and Jacqui

G'day Foxy,
I can't resist. Looks like one place I have visited - Bar Rock Lookout, Narooma, NSW?

Spot on Don, The area is commonly known as Australian rock, for obvious reasons . one of my favorite camping spots as we have camped (tent)there over a period for many years. A fond memory I have is of my four girls and their friends collecting golf balls that golfers have lost in the water hazards and selling then back to other golfers and with the money (that burnt a home in their pocket) they wanted to race down town and spend it. Their friends spent their money on icecream and lollies, so I said to my girls you can spend your money on icecrarm and lollies or you can combine your money and buy a floaty rubber surfer which you can enjoy for years whereas the lollies you will enjoy only once, well they bought the floaty using all their money,(which they enjoyed for the next three years), I then bought the lollies etc as i was so proud they had made a wise choice. this is one of the many fond memories I have of the years we camped at Narooma NSW
