OK all you well seasoned travellers. Here's a thread to show off where you've been. Guess where this is and it will be your turn to show us parts of Australia we have never seen or may like to see. So Where's This? Cheers Atog

Many years ago i went with a mate to an old Holden grave yard,Ive never seen so many Oldhens rotting away. Not sure if they are still there. Terowie Dave Yep....been there, that's where the tail lights on out Teardrop van came from and is the location for the widely circulated pic on a poster from a few years back that was entitled "mystery Holden graveyard" ( or something like that ;D).....I've been told it's all gone now ,but I haven't been back since so I don't know for sure.....go and have a squiz for us Dave ;D, make sure you stop at the caravan park at Warnertown, it's interesting ....used to be a ripper car boneyard there too , but it's all gone for scrap..... ..sorry 'bout the shrunken pics....blame lack of knowledge ;D ;D

Hi Brett,
Must be an old photo of Flynns. I've been there a few times since the early 60's, & last time I was there was about 35 years ago. It was being crushed then from memory, as most of the yard was empty. Shame all our old yards have been reduced to scrap. I guess the one at Tara, & the one at Inverell are some of the few left. There is a truck wreckers at Dalby in Qld has a lot of old trucks still ( Easter last year visit), but he is getting pretty pricey. Lots of 30's & 40's trucks still there.

I'm not real sure but I think Flynns is still going in Cooma, although that photo taken in 2005 isn't that old... once the crushers move in things disappear might quickly. Hear different stories about the place...... some say his wrecks will be there forever because of the prices, others do good deals with him and get what they want. This photo of my "Where's this" is an old one but the place is heritage listed so it should still be there. We camped the night there just to get this photo Cobber.

G'day Cobber, Is it on the Lions Road north of Kyogle where the train line loops over itself through a couple of tunnels because of the steepness of the grade Cheers Bob

10 out of 10 for you Bob Both the road and the look out are top spots aye? For those that don't know the history of the road click HERE...... Apparently they have now sealed it.... which is a pity if you ask me. Click HERE to read about the "Cougal" spiral railway. Cobber

Thanks Cobber, We used to camp there a fair bit in the mid 70's early 80's That's our trusty HG wagon and ACT camper trailer at the old camp site. Great swimming hole there. Unfortunatley that spot has been closed down. Great part of the country. I'll have to have a look for something to put up. Cheers Bob

Flynns is still going Cobber/JBJ........run by the sons now...still the same with some people struggling to get overpriced parts and others having no problems at all. Seems to depend on their mood on the day! Lots of trees growing out of their cars though. Cooma motorfest is on this nov 5th/6th with a free tour of flynns for those who are interested early on the sat morning jennison
