Hi Stephen&Julie
I noticed that your Stardust had an Aircon on the roof - fitted with a custon made mount.
I'm planning of fitting Aircon to our Stardust; I'd prefer to fit a roof mount unit to a strengthened and fixed hatch cover, but I'm concerned about the weight and fibreglass flexing.
On your van, can you see any damaged or fractured fibreglass you can attribute to having a 50-60kg aircon unit on the roof ??
Thanks OZ

Hi Greg, the roof mount unit looks engineered to spread the weight with extensions past the hatch at each end that sit on the ribs, there are no signs of fractures or stress, i'm looking for a hatch maybe we could come to an arrangement PM if interested Cheers Stephen&Julie

Hats off to you. You'd think when they were slopping all that blue paint on, they would have stopped & said 'hey, this looks really bad' & not kept going? Look forward to the reno's. Keep up the good work.

I'm certainly glad to hear your van hasn't experience any structural damage by having the aircon on the roof; I prefer a roof mount to a cupboard install any day. I hoping to have my Debonair finished and sold this summer; the interior is finished; just need to paint the exterior now. I'm looking to start on my Stardust over the xmas break. Your welcome to take a mould off the roof hatch if you need. Cheers, Greg

Hi Stephen, Like yours, my 21 footer has been completely painted and it needs to come off. How did you go about getting all that blue paint off without stripping the gelcoat off?? Also; highly probable that I wont need one of my roof hatch's. Not ready to give it up just yet as I need it to keep water out, but it's yours when you need it. Cheers, Gregh (AKA ozetrade)
