As shown in sutcacs current touring thread with a few more comprehensive photos. The owner picked it up for free in a paddock near Orbost in Victoria. Needed to replace rusty frame/chassis parts underneath but the intererior was in great order. Lovely varnished timberwork, concertina privacy screen, some nifty vents at top of windows and a map of Sth Africa inset into the tabletop. Cobber should love the very different original A frame/towball attachment as well! . A real Pommy come New Zealand flavour to its styling I reckon and a model we have not a lot of info on too. Aluminium sided and all up weight is 800kg. jennison DonR will post the piccys soon!

Thanks Jenno, And thanks to Don R. the coupling is in the Tow coupling thread.reply # 173. Nice looking 'van aye? Looking at the way the tail lights are molded into the body I have to ask, is there fibre glass involved in the construction They now make Jurgens vans in Australia too, so I leave it to Don R. to determine if they should be listed in DHL.... might depend when they started making them here This information is taken from the Jurgens web site. Jurgens Australia is part of one of the largest caravan manufacturers in the southern hemisphere. Jurgens has been manufacturing in South Africa since 1952 and have built over 100,000 caravans and motor homes. In that time Jurgens has earned a reputation for building quality caravans to withstand extreme African conditions. Jurgens caravans are now made right here in Australia. We have taken a proven product and further developed it to meet Australian standards. So, whether you’re heading for the mountains, the coast or the outback you can rely on Jurgens. Cobber.

Hi Cobber, the owner Geoff, said that Jurgens started up in OZ in the 90s'. He tried to interest them in his old van after he aquired it but disappointingly they could not have been less interested. The van was originally imported by a Sth African fellow who when finished with it sold it to the farmer who eventually gave it to the current owner, Geoff. Oh yeah, it's aluminium all the way round....no fobberglass to be seen anywhere jennison PS sorry about the squew-iff pics of info board and makers plate.....bloody mobile phone cameras.....you can't see what you are taking with the glare on the screen, not to mention the mug who went and walked his shadow into it as I took the photo
