Hi All, Thought we would share the following photo with you - Last October we went on a trip around the goldfields area of Victoria with our Holden club. On our way from Ararat to Ballarat we decided to take a detour to the Mount Langi Ghiran winery. We were heading down the side road and there on our right was a paddock full of caravans in varied sizes condition and mostly aluminum. Naturally we slowed down as we are out in the country here and this was the last thing we expected to see but there was more. A sign said caravan museum but it all looked very closed up and we could not see a soul – but then we spotted the shed in the photo below (the photo was taken from as close as we could get without trespassing). As you can see there are a couple of teardrops but from what we could see there also appeared to be an old horse drawn Gypsy van. Obviously these are being protected as best they can. We cannot offer any further info but thought on of the Victorian enthusiasts may know more Panda.

Thanks for the info Panda The van on the left looks like a folding Propert similar to Ray and Lee’s van.. and two very interesting teardrops.
Jailbar is right in what he says.. Wouldn’t it be nice if someone could rebuild all those old vans and save them from rotting away or being scrapped when someone passes on.. probably a person who sees the value in old things but doesn’t have the resources to do anything with them other than storage under cover.
I’ll take a run up there soon and see what I can find out
Jim

You're right Jim & Panda, that's definitely a Propert awaiting restoration. What a pity I'm back in Qld again, I would have loved to detour to see this collection. Great pics nonetheless. Ray
