G'day Westcoasters (and visitors).... 2011 WA Runs & Events Update: (as at 18/01/2011 1. Hamelin Bay (near Augusta). Caravan/camping, (National Park, no dogs), near beach 17th-21st February, make your own bookings, (08) 9758 5540, mention you're with the vintage van group. 2. Trev Roberts memorial run (April/Mayish)...any suggestions for location/date? ??. One destination I have in mind is Fonty's Pool, Manjimup (dog friendly)......not far for us from Bridgetown unfortunately, but apparently a nice, treed but grassy spot. 3. West Coast Spring Tour (Sept/Octoberish)........date/location?? If you have any other suggestions to fill in between and are unsure/unable to post, please PM or email me and I will happily update this thread. Daggsey

Hi Wassies, Comment made to me last night by a v'ver that they had missed the thread on the proposed Hamelin Bay run. It is great that West Aussie v'vers are proposing runs, but can I quietly suggest that if you have a venue/date in mind and wish to promote the run/event and wish to maximise the number of participants, how about putting the details under this thread which is LOCKED at the top of the "Runs and Events" section. The whole idea of getting the moderators to lock each states' events for the year at the beginning of the section was so it was easier for v'vers to see what is happening in the particular state they live in (or are visiting). This section is a bit of a moveable feast as runs/events can be added as we go. Just for the record, the only run that appears to be locked in for WA so far is: Hamelin Bay (Caravan park) - 17th to 21st February.....(National Park, on the beach, no dogs). Make your own booking (Ph 08 9758 5540 and mention you're with the Vintage Caravan group) We still need suggestions for dates/venues for the Trev Roberts Memorial Run and the West Coast Spring Tour 2011. If no-one has any suggestions for these 2 events, youse might be leaving the final outcome up to Snail & myself ;D ;D ;D ;D As an aside, if you look at the threads below which aren't in any particular order or under the relevant State's thread, what you see is a real dog's breakfast. g'day daggy one pottsy aka lillypad, is the one who suggested the hamlin bay run but he has been removed from the site? ? so he just e-mails all the addresses he knows and hopes the message goes out. he has asked to be put back on the forum numerous times but naught has happened. i will contact the admin and hopefully sort it. see how that goes dave w ;D

Howdy lovshack, No worries........pottsy just needs to contact JBJ via email to sort out his membership issue The point I was making was, that if anyone has any suggested events for WA, be it a simple B-B-Q get-together or proposed run, simply add it to this thread. If you notice, the very active SE Q'landers have many events and the individual threads that they start tend to swamp all the other threads from other States. Consequently, if you start a thread which gets minimal response, it will simply keep moving down the page until it disappears or until someone puts a post on that topic to bring it back to the top. That is why some events may get minimal response. I'm not trying to be pedantic or State-centric here.......just trying to make life easier for all. Daggsey ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Hi Dave & Chris.
Pottsy hasnt given the Forum administration his current correct email adress. The only one I had was sent back to me as not valid from the email operators.
I supposedly look after membership, & I have no recollection of him ever asking to be reinstated. All he really needs to do is rejoin using a valid email adress, & he will be restored as he was.
Naturally he wont recieve a reply to anything if he uses an invalid adress, as the responding email to the application would not be able to be sent to him on that adress.
When someone doesnt log in often, it would be possible for them to forget they had changed their email adress.
The ONLY reason anyone is removed other than breaking rules, is that we cannot communicate with them on the email adress they have provided.
SO if anyone changes their email adress, it would be wise to let us know your new one, or change it on your members profile.
If one of you talk to pottsy, get him to email me on dwatts47@bigpond.net.au, and I will help him sort it out(hopefully)
All of the same applies to any member that has been removed for the same reason of having an invalid email adress. It is such a basic thing to get correct.
JBJ

ATTENTION all wa vv'ers re trevor roberts run rang to confirm australind re query from bubbles and was told place is booked out for the w/end...big music festive in bunbury that w/end and nobody had rung to book any sites etc. plus girl forgot to mention it to me originally...good one ace. owner was very gunshy about van groups and had been let down before with multiple bookings etc however.. the w/end of may 27th thro 29th is free. soooooo, if we all book in and i give him a close off date of..say.. april 30th, that might satisfy him and show that we are serious vanners not to be messed with. lol.,and he can go about his business after that date. what say ye to that plan people. please let me know as i said i would get back to him this week cheers dave
