G'day All, If you are old enough to remember Smoky Dawson and his horse Flash, read on. If you are old enough to remember Smoky Dawson's Mother [insert special cheerio to cobber here], then obviously all those Corn Flakes you had for breakfast have helped your brain cells. Here's the story... My son is a builder, and is renovating an old house he bought recently. The house was built in late 1959 - early 1960, and contains a lot of oregon and cedar timber trim. I asked my son to salvage all this sort of timber so I could recycle it into caravan cupboard framework, etc. The first load of timber is now in my garage, being de-nailed... On a number of pieces of timber from the door jambs, the builders had used small bits of masonite, folded flashing, and folded cardboard, to pack the door jamb out in the door frame. On one of the pieces of folded cardboard, I could see this... So I salvaged all the bits of cardboard, and layed them out flat. Then I glued all the pieces back together on a sheet of ply, to reveal this... The competition closed on December 14, 1959. The holes in the cardboard are from the nails, not from Smoky trying to shoot his way out of the box. Pretty interesting find, huh? Might make a nice little wall hanging for some old caravan somewhere... cheers, Al.

I received a PM querying the date of the contest. Rather than send a zoom image of the date to just that member, I thought I'd add a close-up image of the contest rules in this thread: cheers, Al.
