SGTL,
Great new name for your Van, thanks for the return of the 'Winterwood" name for the "Don".

Hi all, We are also new to Vintage Caravans (& generally posting comments) but we just bought a 1964 Baravan which was already named for us "Bronzewing", so we think we might keep the name.

Originally named the van Harry as it's a Harris Van but was finally prevailed upon to name her Harriette as it seems vans are like ships, and should be feminine by name and nature. So, Harriette she is. And she's very pleased to be a painted lady in a bright red rather than the original dismal blue.

We decided to name our 1960ish Valiant Two Bob. Two I was happy to call her Bobbie but Max chose Two Bob and after it is his baby. So Bob is the worker who call this van home while working on " Millwood" And Two Bob was worth something in the 60's.Attachment DeletedAttachment Deleted

Hi all, I am a new member and never used a forum before so I am flying blind. I have a 1964 "tailor made" and have used it for a few years but have only just found out about the site for vintage vans. I have not named mine yet but will probably use my logon name as it was the name of a previous boat and holiday place, "Chamtily"

My 1968 Olympic Riviera (or is it Riviera Olympic?) is called The Judie Margaret after my mother and Aunt, who both passed away in the last few years... A sad time has become a happy place...!

Our caravan is named after my husband's Mum. When he was born they lived in a little wooden caravan in Wales. His dad John, affectionately called his mother, Ann 'Lannie'. Both his parents passed away at the too young ages of 55 and 60, and never met their grandchildren. So Lannie is a tribute to those happy days of the early 1960's, which we will continue to live in our little caravan away from the business of today's life. She is almost back on the road - and we can't wait.

Hi, I'm new to the forum but just thought I would let you know my vans name is.........VanVincent......... My husbands work builds and races replica vintage Vincent motorcycles, it just seem to be a natural pick. Vincent is in great shape so restoring him will be easy (I hope, says she of her first van lol) pictures to come.

Our van gets the nickname "Winnie-bags" so I might go with Winnie.

My van is called Silver on account of its aluminium sides, front and back (bond wood sides) but mostly so i can say "Hi-Yo, Silver, away" as i drive off! Manxie

My Grandad used to say it every time we went some where lol we would be sitting on the bus, as he didn't drive and as the bus driver drove off he would say in a loud voice "Hi-Yo Silver, away" we loved it! Manxie

My 1969 Harris Van (SA) was originally to be called Harry after Harris but friends convinced me that it should be a girl's name so he became Harriette and is pulled by George (my 199 Pajero iO).

Hi All, My 1960 Sportline is called "Miss Adelaide". As it was built in SA and my Hubby bought it for me from just outside Adelaide, I thought this name suited it well. Not sure about our Paramount yet, although the plates are "MY49"
Cheers Deanna
