Hey Im getting better at this posting pics business... we scrapped all the lead paint off and took all the trim off which I have Glass sandblasted it, most of what I could fit in the machine. I have put a New tow ball on as the original is too small to fit any of our vehicles.. We have now sanded this bugga back about 4 times, as I filled all the imperfections in on the wood, so I can have a really good paint job on her. Pity about the weather here as it has held us up a bit. I now have to sand her back one more time and it she will have her Paint job done... and then the windows will need fixing and I carnt wait to start on the interior decorating bit woo hoo, just lovin it

Quaint looking lil van there Kaz. And your resto beginnings show merit. How well did/does it tow as it seems to sit a wee bit high especially for wind factor. Yeah,P/bucket takes a bit to get into. You should be able to u/l x amount of pics in one go instead of seperate posts. Don`t worry we`ve all been there. cheers gordon

thanks Gordon, yep the resto is taking a bit longer than expected, weather has been terrible at the moment. I havent towed her far yet just around the yard, but im thinking the drawbar is a bit short im thinking, but when i take her for a real day out i'll make a desicion then I suppose Kaz

Hi Kaz. Other than the tow hitch & jockey wheel i`d say the draw bar is original. You`d be surprised just how many short draw bars were mnfg. Resident raconteur & all round fun guy Reddo has pics somewhere on here ( like others i guess) who fell foul to short draw bars. Don`t worry about it taking longer than anticipated. My teardrop is still 2 years into being finished. cheers gordon

Hey Kaz, great little van you've got there, looks real real cozy ;D, no need to rush the resto other wise you will end up doing something you regret and end up having to go back and do it again, slow and steady wins the race can't wait to see her painted.

Hi Kaz Just been browsing the forum after work 12.45am. Found this post. I have replied on the other thread you have started about your van. Glad to see you have attacked the little van with heaps of enthusiasm. When the bro and i picked the van up from a property about 7k west of the cockfighters hotel at Bulga the farmer said there was a few camping odds and ends still in t he van... When i checked out the van there was a .303 rifle ( minus the bolt) in there I asked about the bolt??.. he didnt know where it was. I have tried searching the forum for the link to the story and photos of the trip out there and back when we collected the van. cant seem to spot them. Will try again tomorrow. Really happy to see the van finally getting a tidy up. It'll look sweet behind the Dak dak Reddo
