Hi All Have just spoken with John the caretaker at Munmorah van park ( Koala Park). I rang to clarify that we are allowed back to the park this year.?? He stated that things have been sorted with the two authorities that had issues with the park. One being the Power station itself and the other being the local council. Council have placed a limit of 10 vans at a time on the site. Powerstation have a condition of use that states that each site occupant has to have worked in the electricity industry I am sure each and everyone of us has replaced a light bulb at somne stage in our life... ;D ;D ;D So that covers that side of the deal... The issue of 10 vans is a bit of a concern .. especially when there is plenty of power outlets. I suggested that some of us would set up and not need electricity but John seems to think the conditions have been imposed for some other reason besides electricity demand?? So.. do we want to head there bearing mind the fact that council arent real likely to bung on a park check on the weekend..... maybe stretch the 10 site rule for just one weekend a year.?? Other factor that is a bit of a concern is that we normally hold this event the weekend after mothers day in May. The 2010 Nats are on around this time so some of the regular Vintage vanners will be away. So.. Do we hold the event on its usual weekend and cater for us destitutes that cant make the Nats?? ( that'll solve the problem for this year at least . Probably have less than 10 show up so no probs. ) . or do we hold off and go there a bit later in the year?? I have pencilled in August 13/14/15 as a tentative date . Reason for the big shift is that we in NSW have Christmas in July 2010 on early in the month ( see seperate post) and June has a longweekend in it that most people get away on anyway. I told John i will get back to him in a few weeks. Your thoughts / expressions of interest please Reddo

hi reddo
geez, only 10 vans - that makes it a bit tough.
we're not going to the nats so we'd be looking forward to meeting up with the group up there.
either time is ok but the week after mothers day is our choice.
maybe with a bit of negotiating with the council/elec mob we could get a "special dispensation" regarding numbers - especially since we are a "special interest group".
worth a shot anyway.

Yo... Been thinking about this. I am gunna ring John and book us in for BOTH weekends. Even if there is only 2 or 3 vans at the May getogether its gotta be better than not having a getaway at all. Cant have those going to the Mildura Nats enjoying the good times and us peasants missing out . Roaring campfire... a good bottle of brain numbing juice .. and good company. What more could a bloke ask for??? We can revisit the August date after the Nats and at Katoomba and see if there is any takers ( besides Reddos, Chippydave) then . Reddo

Ok... perhaps ya nodded off in the toilet readin' the form guide.. Perhaps ya really are goin ta mildura fa the nationals. Perhaps ya did miss this post a while back .. Just maybe you DO have something more important than smilin'. ...gigglillin , and haven a bloody good time with like minded vintage caravan fruitcake types.... Perhaps your dog is having its 14th litter of pups and you are ... "unavoidably detainded" There is no excuse for you NSW guys to sit at home on your fat bums while the rest of us are at Munmorah doin exactly that... Us of the NSW persuasion are pretty bloody vocal when it comes to waving the vintage van flag at the rest of the world... BUT,,, have a look at the SEQ guys .. out there stickin it in the faces of Joe average every chance they get... Bloody great aye.. .. how often do we get off our butts and get out there and use our vans ( Nats attendees can kindly tune out now.. Have a great trip guys). Here is an oppurtunity for us to dust off the plywood,,,,... oh alright ..the glass and bauxite and get out there , catch up wth whats been doin ..in and around your vans ... and ' Socialise.. be there .. or be square. Hi All I called in at Munmorah the other weekend spoke with the caretakers missus and the weekend after Mothers Day ( 14 / 15 /16 May) is booked for us vintage vanners. I counted 10 power outlet posts in the park each with 2 .. or some may have 4 outlets. Cant see what the problem would be with having 20 vans there at the same time......unless the wiring isnt capable of handling 2 vans per post.. We have had up to 25 vans there with jugs and toasters on the go and we havent burnt the joint down... Anyway.. 10 is the rules so........get in while ya can. Geoff and Jude Col and Sue Julie Reddo ChippyDave Vantoura John and Pam Daniels MrFJ55 - Maurie , Kate and the kids cheers all Reddo

;D ;D ;D Vantoura and Chippydave added to the list a few posts back. This get together is starting to look like the "Mildura non attendees destitute run".... Thank You for your VERY GENEROUS offer of a 1940s toaster Kaybees. I love the smell of molten copper and scorched bakerlite in the morning..... That lingering smell of charcoaled jug element at Moruya never did quite clear itself from my nostrils... But alas... I am going ta decline your offer... Please dont be offended..... Its just that i have the health and wellbeing of half a dozen other vans and thier occupants to consider...... as well as the need to ensure power is maintained to the residents of Munmorah and 20 kilometres in all directions. Yes.... i know we are camped under the shadows of a gazzillion megawatt power station... but even it is no match for a Kris kaybee ebay queen defective toaster. ;D ;D ;D ;D yours sincerely Munmorah Camp Captain

Hi All Just a reminder to all the NSW destitutes that cant afford /arent going to the Nats this year. We have the Munmorah Getogether on the 13/14/15th May.. Thats the weekends after mothers day weekend... ( 9 more sleeps) So.. if your keen .. get your name up here now. I wouldnt worry about the 10 van limit too much. I know the authoritys have bunged this on but i reckon i could talk logic to anyone that turns up and counts vans. 10 posts with at least 2 outlets protected by 15 amp breaker for each outlet = 20 sites .. not 10. All they have done is count posts... I am taking the van down Friday morning and setting up.. Will work arvo shift that night and sneek off about 8.45pm....catch yas there around 10.15.. ish around the fire. Did i mention entry is via a bag of firewood donation ;D Reddo

éres owe ya git there... Straight up the F3 past the wyong twin servos. look for the big brown touristy sign that says.... Tourist drive . East Lake Macquarie. Shoot up the exit ramp and follow that road to the traffic lights at Doyalson...'bout 5 to 10 mins drive.... there is a servo on the right side corner. Hang a right about 1k down on the left there is a white brick fence / entry to Munmorah power station turn in there. About 100 metres down on the right you will see an entrance into "Koala Park" swing in there .... we are around behind the BBQ buildings and ammenties block.... Sites arent booked under any names .. just take your pick. I will leave some firewood and the steel fire frame where we have the fire.... that is where the noise will be later on.... Oh ... and it could also get noisey near a van with a picture of a Rosella on the side and 2 stoned crows on the back ;D ;D ;D ;D Reddo
