OK,
The “more to come” I mentioned at the
start of this thread has happened. I wasn’t
being coy, I just didn’t know what was going to happen
.
This whole thing is the inspiration of one
young lady named Kimberley
The “Belvoir St. Theatre” (Company B) in
Sydney is currently, and will be until August 2006, undergoing redevelopment, but
the show must go on
During this time they will be based at the
“Seymour Centre” in Sydney
Kimberley suggested that as part of the
promotion for their 2006 season they could
adopt the idea that they were “on holidays--having
an adventure” in their unfamiliar surroundings ;D
She also suggested they use a vintage caravan to convey this feeling
Kimberley and a photographer came out to my
place and took photos. The invitation I showed
in the first posting went out to many hundreds of people inviting them to the launch of the 2006
season last Wednesday at the Seymour Centre
They asked me to take my car and van in
for the media to take pictures with Actors who
will be appearing in the forth-coming plays crawling all over it in a ‘relaxed holiday mode’
Then that evening, during the launch
presentation, they had the car in the foyer
and the caravan on stage in front of an
audience of about 300 people who couldn’t
help but gaze at a vintage caravan for two hours
The booklet handed out that night previewing
the plays to be presented during the 2006
season has the car and van on the front and back cover
A “vintage caravan” key ring was also given to “Season Ticket Holders”
I hope nobody thinks I got a big head over
any of this, or felt overly proud of my car and
van-- I did it for the “VINTAGE CARAVAN MOVEMENT”
The more people from all walks of life we can introduce to this hobby the more old vans
are likely to be saved.
Kimberey has said she will try and get
down to Coledale to have a look at the
rest of the vans
Come on Coledale!! ;D ;D
Cobber.
