Nice find Surferboy, pays to be in the right place at the right time eh! Here are a couple that Austin 125 and Cobber don't seem to have (or are keeping a secret!!!) This 24 page booklet was published by Home Beautiful and although it does not have a date I suspect it is mid to late '40's, but may be a reprint of a 1930's publication. It has reference on page 22 about the "pre war Cost List" of components for building a Teardrop (Caravanette). How to Build Trailers by John D. Porter is a small 130 page book which covers the complete caravanning scene from designing and building a camper trailer, a teardrop and a full size van to tow cars, weights, balance, caravan park design, servicing, etc. It also has no date but everything in the book seems to date from the late 30's. Mr Porter also published other titles such as "Caravanning Around Australia", "Australian Caravan Magazine" and "Our Fertile North". I don't have a lot of Caravan books but it is nice to know that at least a couple of what I do have are a little unusual. Cheers, Leigh.

G'day Leigh, My edition of Porter's book is a 1948-1949 edition.... if you have a look at the cover of it a lantern roof 'van with quarter circle windows is shown but..... there are no plans for that type of caravan in the book Does you earlier edition have plans for a lantern roof 'van Cobber.
