Hey cobber! Where would I be without you around to remind me? I saw the ad, then forgot to do anything further about it. Found some material there that will do the job as well as finding something for an awning for the Propert (yep, another colour to the Kube!!!) At least I remember where to find slotted screws ;D I believe they are all in a residence around Camden way, with an old bloke there who will show me how to use one of the old-fashioned screwdrivers - I think they call them flatheads! This will tickle your fancy cobber, I undid some fittings already and every screw had the slot finishing horizontally!!!! Talk about neatness! One overhead cupboard above the sink has leadlight glass and both overheads opposite have them too (one has it missing) Ray

Ray,
Good luck with the rebuild. It looks like being a big job ;D Once it is finished you will certainly have a "jaw dropper"!
Cheers, Ron

G'day Ray,
I have amassed a small collection of slot headed screws that are available to you for use on such a worthy project as this "Trail-A-Home" caravan. If you should come across a screw that is not slot headed during the restoration discard it to the rubbish bin because it would have been put there by some heathen ignoramus unaware of the desecration he was performing..... let us pray for his soul.
As for the slots all being horizontal..... I have been told that the slots traditionally are supposed to finish in line with the grain of the timber.... personally I don't like this idea because in some instances ... for example the doors on your cupboards.. it would mean slots securing a hinge would be facing in different directions... not desirable in my opinion.
So long as you make a decision at the outset Ray to finish your slots either vertically or horizontally and stick to it I think this project will be a success.
Cobber... proud member of the "Slot Head Screw Union"

Hi Ray,
I also have a fair collection of slot headed screws, in various sizes, that I collected while rebuilding Lucille.
Also Classic Fasteners on the web is a great supplier, quite a range, reasonable priced & good service.

Hi Ray if you want to repair the leadlights there is a really affordable leadlight specialist in Seddon (near Footscray/Yarraville) called Arcadia Glass. Cheers, Gillian

Thanks for that info Gillian, but the van will be staying in Qld and not coming down to Melbourne. Neilncheryl will be taking over the resto. Knowing them, Cheryl will probably take up a leadlighting course ;D ;D
