A charactor from the weekend run. One of our forum members (surferboy). Now we all thought the surf board was bolted to the roof and all for show!!!!! Not so !!!! and here is the proof. First pic was the failed wave but he picked up the second one like a pro. oh and this is surferboy himself. It was chilly but not sure the workers gloves made a lot of difference ;D

gday everybody, GREAT weekend. Whens the next one ? (Not even breaking down on the way home could spoil it ) Cathy requests a long weekend for the next run coz we've hardly broken the bed in (whoops..she meant hardly broken the VAN in). One night just wasn't enough. Thanks for putting the pics up for me trev (carrots). Proof i really can surf.....who could argue with a digital picture on a computer. it was really good catching up with everyone off this site. TEXT

We came, we saw and we got very cold, but the weekend in Binningup was a blast. We were joined by our regulars and also some welcome new faces. There was the FC wagons of Mark and Trev and their lovely partners Ditzy and Carrots, towing Joker 2 and the unnamed van. Dave and Pat were there with "Loveshack" for the second time. along with Greg and Noelene and their lovely van. And it would not be complete with out Will and Lyn and their '52 teardrop. Coming along for the 1st time were Billy Cork and Pat and their van. Stories of its resortation are on the forum. Graham "Surferboy" and Cathy joined in with their newly aquired Baravan. Not to be out done, Snail bought TWO cars and vans. His 1948 Vauxhall and home made teardrop, and with the aid of his good friends Gerry and Marge driving, the EJ wagon and the "60 Franklin. Brian and Sandra Nobel were also along for the ride. We were also joined by Pete and his beautiful dog Jess, Pete arrived in his flame decked rod and his aluminium teardrop ( home made) looking something like a luna module. ( if anyone has a photo please post it) The hours were spent chatting and catching up around the BBQ, which added the extra warmth. Caravan talk was abundant and after some extra dutch courage Snail and Mark talked their way into aquiring some original Franklin Badges.................. that is a story within itself. Here is our " Global Moderator" Mark trying to convince us of his "supremecy" but also being able to lend a hand when his fellow " VintageCaravanites" are in need. All in all it was another successfull weekend away and we are all looking forward to the next. If anyone would like to arrange that please put your hands up. I know I enjoyed myself.................. if anyone else has any happy snaps please share with us all.

Good on all the “Sand Gropers” it looks as though you had a bonzer time. Thanks for posting photos so quickly I was getting impatient. Interesting little teardrop job. Was it a restoration, or recently built? Surfer boy--does it amuse you when those digital camera people take a picture--then they all gather around and look in the back of the camera to see what they took--and you can hardly see anything. I tell’em they can look in the back of my Brownie if they like but--they will have to use their imagination. Don't get a digital mate, be an individual, like me. Cobber.

don't worry Cobber .......I still have my brownie box camera and play my records on a Gramaphone ;D
Ditzygypsy does all this hi-tech stuff for me !!!
Yes, Mike & Jane Pelusey from the Caravan & Motorhome mag did turn up and took heaps of photos ...they were really impressed with the outfits .....so it should be a good article. Will probably be a couple of months though before the article appears.
Cheers Mark
