I have managed to get hold of a shed in Nundah, to be the Vintage Caravan Centre of Brisbane. So far it has 2 of my 3 vans, Dosse's athol hedges van, plus a wreck van with a porthole! Also have a new "caravancarryingtrailer" which has been very handy so far. here are a couple of pics also have managed to obtain a hoist, kindly collected and delivered to the shed by Dosse, to do those chassis repaints. If anyone in the brisbane area is interested in getting their van on a hoist for a bit of a looksee - send me a pm. earlee ;D ;D

here is a van that dosse and i decided wasnt worth moving to the shed. It had been vandalised and abandoned for a long time and full of rot - too far gone. Probably a early 60's model as it had ply sides with alloy top and ends.

also found this EH holden under a house only 60 metres from the shed. The owner bought it in 1969 as his first, and only, car. incredible. He is now 57 and not driving. I have tried to tell him that I will look after it really well if he will sell it to me, but he is not into making a decision yet. It was last driven in 2003 but has been kept registered and insured since. I reckon it may be good enought to be a Kingy burnerofferer ! ;D earlee.

hi Cactus, The trip to the U.S.A. was good fun, but, there are no airstreams or yankee cars bound for the Nundah shed. I feel patriotic and will stick with good ol' aussie stuff. ... .. for the present moment anyway. there ain't nuffin wrong with a good ol' 179 EH anyway. Have you posted pics of the Panel Van replacement yet? regards earlee.

this is the american way of getting around large swap meets. Its a V8 auto of course, and you can eat your hamburger and be comfy while looking for stuff. the driver sits at the very top back, under the aerofoil, and does the driving.

Hi Earlee You have been busy latelee ;D Nuthin like a whopping big shed for the toys eh. Looks like your headin into a full scale rescue and stash venture. Good to see the crop is all bondwood too. May i suggest that if you set up a mobile workshop with tools such as quick cut saws. cordless drills, compressor and rattle guns etc for quick extraction of salvagable goodies like portholes, hinges, latches, light fittings, wheels etc, etc from any vans that are what you consider beyond repair. People are alway scratching for those sorts of goodies for thier restos. If ya get a good "Pit Crew" together ya could pull up next to an old van with your "Vintage Van Terminator Team" and have it stripped to an empty shell in less than a minute ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Oh .. and go back and hassle the old mate with the EH. Tell 'im ya got "friends in low places" that are gunna come around and pay him a visit. Or better still .Tell him he has too many assets to be collecting the old age pension and you are gunna dob him into the dole office if he dont hand over the EH Kingyburneroffer Good luck Reddo....The pensioners worst nightmare

G'Day All I have it on good advise that the rest-room and kitchen area of your shed are similar to a luxury hotel. Did you wine & dine Gary yet , May-be the only way he will release the EH in too your care. dosse

Hi All V C'ers or is it V V'ers Mark? there is another addition to the Brisbane HQ. Apparently another VC'er had a look at it but declined to buy - I just couldnt resist a PORTHOLE van. SO it has joined the others in the shed - The owners purchased it secondhand some 35 odd years ago, with many a good time with their family holidays since. It has been located very close to salt water which has rusted out a lot of the steel framework and chassis - Is it fixable ? , I am not sure yet? At least the FJ wheels and tyres hold air. Are there any willing welders in Brisbane? (free coffee while working) regards earlee. ;D

Hey Earlee Had a look at that van - a bit TOOOOOO much of a challenge for my talents (can't weld for one thing : Told the fellow that the porthole and other bits on their own were worth more than the van. Good luck Ray
