Hi Daffy Good question! My "guesstimate" is anything up to around 50, based on anecdotal evidence. Even the National museum in Canberra has one in storage (un-restored), there is also one in the SA Birdwood vintage car museum. Had a chap in Sale run across the road at a servo I was at 2 years ago, who informed me he had one wrapped up in plastic!!! Whereabouts are you? What is the number of your van? I have two at the moment, Trodler has two (is that still right, Trodler?). I think bigdidda in the Blue Mts has the oldest so far. Feel free to PM if you want more info. There are several Propert threads in this site - just a matter of looking for them. Cheers Ray

Hi Tom My van is number 8.318, only four before yours. Have been writing to Trodler about this numbering series. It seems from other documentation in my and Trodler's possession, that the first number indicates the year of manufacture, so yours would be a 1968 build. The other van I had was numbered 70.345, and another van I know was 9.340 and that was definitely a 1969 build, based on other documents. Hope that helps you. Cheers Ray

Hi all, Whilst walking around on Christmas night looking at the lights - I noticed a Propert. After a little bit of investigation, it turns out to be owned by the sister and brother-in-law of friends of ours (small world). They have owned it for approx 3 years. It's not on the road and does need some work doing to it before they can use it. When talking to the owners, they mentioned that they didn't know how old it was, so I said I would try and find out. The build number is 5. 249. After reading this thread and roehm3108's comments i'm guessing it must be a 1965 build - is that right? Also reading between the lines is the 3 digit number a running total of the amount of Properts ever built?? i.e. Big Didda's being the oldest we know of NÂș 62 (not sure of the year), then 5.249 (1965), 8.318 (1968), 9.340 (1969), 70.345 (1970). ? Thanks guys Di
