(This post has been modified from its original wording)
Unfortunately when you register with this site they ask for various details, but none of the important ones (i.e. where you live, what sort of van you have and what you tow it with). Even the Grand Pooh Bah can't change this.
I've sort-of guessed where lots of people are, but could people put in some short posts? It might help those of us who aren't part of the throng in WA to get together.
Could people let us know some VERY GENERAL details - first names, forum names and approximately where they live. See Mark's posting on privacy to explain the reasons. Later on this post there is a summary of some of our contributors listed by states.

Its up to me now to put it all back together. hopefull get it regoed the same way ( $87 a year) Will post some pix on this site shortly. Just gotta work out how???.I sent the last lot to Mark. i aint no 'puter expert!!. Hopefully the xmas break will see the car finished then i will attack the van. It wont be anywhere near the project Retro 1 has done but at least it will be a coat of paint and a freshen up. I am that keen on the car and van project that I am selling one of my old bikes to finance it. Anyone interested in a 1953 Norton ES2 500cc $5,500 So thats us and where we are at Reddo

Hi out there............ yeah it would be nice to get some idea of where you are all at............. us West Aussies have that advantage ( that would be a first) of knowing each other and getting together for runs........
I must admit it would be nice to get a handle on "caravan lodgings" so to speak........... and it is hoped that maybe you can all make contact if you want.
It is all kind of exciting really!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great idea. I'm a new member, and am interested to know where members live. I have a Propert fold-up van, which I will post once I pick it up in the New Year. My wife Lee and I live in Yarraman Qld, approx 50k's SW of Kingaroy, the peanut capital of the world. I'm 57, early retired (had to) and my wife is ?? years of age. I have previously restored a 1962 10.5ft Franklin, which we sold after someone around Proserpine said it looked like a turd hanging off the back of our car! Our children (3) live in Sydney, Ipswich and Kuranda (west of Cairns), so we always have a destination to go to. At the moment we are renovating a removal house on our acre. After that we're off. Planning a trip down the east coast, following highway 1 to Warnambool Vic, in mid February 2005. Would love to hear from anyone along the way. Hope that helps. Roehm 3108

Another good idea Belinda, I am not only having trouble working out where people come from, I am having trouble keeping up with the number of posts on the multitude of subjects on this incredibly successful site.
I am Cobber (Bob) another old age pensioner, (66) I live outside Sydney, near Camden. We, my wife and I, have had our early 60s plywood van since 1993, (see photos in “Cobbers van”). We tow it behind our 1955 FJ Holden sedan that we have had since 1986, finished restoring it in 1989.
Cobber.

It seems little old Adelaide is starting to build a vintage van following...even if it is a little incestuous (?) .I work with Retro1's other half!!! Having got over the fact vans built after I was born are now in the "vintage" class....we are keen to buy one to restore...even if it is to show things from the 60's still have style!!! Living in Ironbank (up in the hills that surround Adelaide) we would love to hear from any of you visiting our neck of the woods so we can have a sticky at your vans and pick up some pointers!! Regards, Marc , Jane , Amanda and Zoe!

Hi all, l live in Gippsland, Victoria. l have been greatly impressed with this site and have been avidly watching from the sidelines , l don't yet have a vintage van......but seriously looking. l had my heart set on a Carapark but the chances of coming across one seem slim so l would like something in the same vintage as my 66 XP Falcon that has just been restored. l'll hopefully become a "fully fledged" member soon enough! all the best and keep up the good work Mik

:DHi Everyone, We live in Brisbane (southside) and tow our van with a Ford.... eech... yep I know thats frowned upon... Darren is nearly finished a 29 ford Tudor hotrod with 292 Yblock bored to 304. The motor was in our last hotrod (a 34 chev coupe, that won king rod at Greazefest and hottest rod at Wintersun a few years back) I am building a 52 Chevy, making it from a 4 door sedan into a 2 door convertible... scary thing cutting a roof off. I just bought some spats for it from a guy in NSW so it should look the part in front of the Sunliner, dropped in the weeds and some kind of undercoat... matt black with flames is the vote from the kids. We are 34 & 35 and have 3 kids soon to be 10, 8 & 6...if they make it thru the school holidays... Both 10 & 6 came off the Peewee 50 and have bark off everywhere,,, lucky they had on all the gear.. we seem to breed no fear in this family. Grandad is even a hotrodder (since he was 16) they have a 62 bedford bus converted into a motorhome.. very cool. + 32/33 chev roadster. We are in the Eliminators Hot rod and American car club at Loganholme. Anyone in our area give us a yell at chevy35@optusnet.com.au catch ya Deb

so where are the rest of you?
As suggested by Mark, I took our the couple of surnames that were on this post for a little while, and made locations much more general. I wasn't sure about the WA addresses though - not sure if they were towns or suburbs. Mark, are you able to modify these accordingly?
Maybe those posts that are too detailed can be taken off temporarily and "quarantined" until the people who posted them can modify them.
The "christian names and forum names" policy is an excellent one to protect everyone's privacy and security. Thanks Mark for allerting us all to the issues.
