;D ;D ;D Hi everybody!! Let me just say that I love this website. I have been on it everyday for the last week. You guys are great and a 'fountain of caravanning knowledge'. Exactly six days ago I bought my first caravan and I love it. ;D ;D ;D I think it may be 1950 vintage . I love the portholes. Hopefully there is a photo with this message... so you might give me some idea of it's heritage. Cheers and keep up the good work, Did I mention I love this website? Stewie ;D ;D ;D

Hi Stewie, Welcome aboard, now hang on there Jailbarjuice we may be able to solve this on the East Coast, Stewie, your van looks a lot like our 1957 Carapark Cardman 14foot van. Although your van is not as long they share a lot in common. The front window setup, and awning above it (looks like an upside down gutter), also the power point location as well as the high front stone guard. Lets have some more pics. Where did you find it Have a look in members photos to compare it with ours, page 4, GARYS VANS, kindly posted by Carrots & Trev. Regards, Gary

Stewie, Do you think these two could be cousins? "Ditzy" is 10ft and made by Convair Caravans of South Australia. That is , unfortuntately ,as much as I know. She is a 1963 vintage. I am not sure how big yours is, she looks a little longer. "Ditzy" has some major modifications done on her interior ( not by me) and it could be feasable she could have had front windows similar to yours at some time. Happy vanning Ditzy

G'day Stewie and welcome aboard the wackiest site on the internet. .... Well at least we try and keep it entertaining Congratulations on your recent purchase and good to see you have decided to "come out of the closet" and sign up. Your photo has solved a problem i have been working on with my van "just Cruizn" . For a while now i have been trying to come up with a spot to mount the spare wheel. most people just throw the spare in the van when they are packing . I wanted to mount my spare on the short draw bar but it would interfere with the jockey wheel. i was about to start making a bracket to mount the wheel vertically against the front of the van. Now that I have seen the box arrangement on the front of your van i might do something similar but cut through the front of the van and allow the spare wheel to fit under the front bunk and protrude into a box on the draw bar. with a hinge open lid I could store the jack, wheel brace, hammer, annexe pegs and ropes in there as well. Anyway thats enough keyboard aerobics from me this morning. Once again welcome aboard and we look forward to your contributions / stories/photos . regards Reddo

Hey Reddo,
To fix your spare wheel problem, just buy an old holden as the tow car! One spare does the van and the car. Most older vans use holden 13" wheels.... but I know... someone will correct me!
