Umm, why does it seem to always take bumfights and longstanding, respected members getting insulted by 'guests' for action? I agree...with Hollywood, NQG&J and reddo Signed Very confused. Ohh, poo, I signed on as me and not a guest. Games up now Gristy. Oh poo, I said my real name......

Hi Reddo & "Holy Wood" .......nice name ......like it I've always been a big fan of guests being able to post, mainly for the valuable input that they may have to our V V interest........ Imagine when some elderley gentleman reading about vintagecaravans.com in a magazine article (that Keith & Sue have published) remembers something about an old caravan, or the manufacture of an old caravan, or even the whereabouts of an old caravan, and decides to post something on our forum, but then finds the whole member register thing an unecessary excercise and decides not to bother. He probably wouldn't have wanted to register as a member anyway, he just wanted to tell us something, so then its lost .....forever ...... During the four years the forum has been running, there've been many informative posts by guests, who say what they've got to say, and then we don't hear from them again.......but thats ok, they didn't want to join us anyway So, to reopen the general discussion forum to guests was a good idea, we (myself, krisbee & Don R) thought......... I never intended to shut it down to guests forever when the forum reopened, the total disablement of guests was mainly to eliminate the chinese garble that we were having problems with. Nowhere in the "forum changes" post did it say a Board wouldn't reopen to guests. We now have enough moderators watching the forum to quickly deal with troublemakers, so that shouldn't be an issue . Up to you "Holy Wood" whether you want to start another "bun fight" over it .....be my guest ;D ;D Mark

Thanks Mark.
Hyroglyphics are a pain. People having cracks at one another whilst masked as guests is worse. Personally, if someone wants to have a go over something I say, they are most welcome to email me. Unless of course they are an idiot, I dont tolerate idiots. I appreciate your point on enabling guests to contribute, but, if someone really wants to contribute something, surely they would sign up? Or worst case email the info to a member?
Cheers, gristy ;D

thanks Gristy ....... Guests have been enabled since August 26, and to date we've had no problem with Hyroglyphics I've had some valuable VV stuff come through the "mark@vintagecaravans".com mailbox over the years .....imagine if I set up the mailbox so that you had be a member of "vintagecaravans.com" to email me ......I don't think so ........imagine what we would've missed out on

Hi All,
I've had a few PM's from members about who has agreed or not.
If you go to the start of this thread, & double left click on the number of replies, a list will drop in that lists the names of the posters on this thread The names in yellow are the ones that are not members. I deleted one as a duplication, & one of the others removed her membership at her choice. The others I have no idea about, & it really doesnt matter.

Hi All,
I'm finding as I work thru the members list, that quite a few members are still actively using the Forum without agreeing to Marks required agreement. I have sent an email to everyone that hadn't agreed by the 3rd September. This set out the agreement, & gave 14 days for you to agree.
Times up about now.
If you get your membership deleted through not responding as requested, you can always reapply to Mark for new membership, & your posts will be restored to your original log in name, if you rejoin as such.
But you will be shown as a guest until you rejoin, & will not be allowed to post other than in the general section.
I cannot reinstate members, so Mark is the only one that can do that.
Quite a lot of non contributing members have already been deleted, some 250 to date.
A lot more will be removed over the next couple of weeks.
So if you havent agreed yet, do it now for your own benefit. Thank you.

JBJ says: If you get your membership deleted through not responding as requested, you can always reapply to Mark for new membership, & your posts will be restored to your original log in name, if you rejoin as such.Sure will JBJ ......and by re registering your username you have to agree to the Proboards agreement anyway, so this will work well JBJ is doing a fantastic job with this excercise, and admin again thank him for a great effort in assisting us with this excercise Mark

Yeah Mark....... I'll second that. This effort to get the membership sorted out would be taking up a lot of JBJ's spare time...... on ya Den. Cobber.

No Mark,
even though the membership its taking heaps of time, the drinking with Daggsey is slowing me up on the van progress.
I'll get some progress pix soon. I've done a fair bit since last posts, but maybe not as much as I could have.

Hi Dave01,
No worries, you had agreed, or else you'd be a guest right now.
