As you may be aware the production of Sunliners began in1958 in the town of Forster. A 50 year Celebration is being planned for Sunliners at Forster. The Great Lakes Council has been contacted and is very happy for us to be involved with them during the Foreshore Festival on the 4th,5th October 2008 (long week-end) . They plan to have stalls, bands, etc and for us to have media coverage. 'The Council would like to have numbers of those who may be interested, as they may be able to help with accommodation. We should have thought about this a year ago, but at least it is underway now.
Contact John (Spyder) to indicate to him your interest. You could PM him, as Spyder. You could email him......spyder@tsn.cc or phone him......on 02 47218451
We hope to get as many Sunliners there as possible, and also promote this vintage van site as well.
BTW.....This only applies to the Sunliners produced between 1958 and 1966 (eggs) .........Not the later camper versions.

Hi Humpty, We would have loved to come with our Sunliner, but unfortunately, it is at the same time as Cora Lyn in Vic, and we will just be home from the Bay to Birdwood run. Impala

We're going to try to get there, & have an extra week off before the start of Reddo's tour.
Depends a lot on work & finances, but who knows what tomorrow will bring. I'll email Spyder & let him know.

Hi Humpty, Desperately trying to have the sunny registered and ready for Oct. Will try and talk the editor into doing a feature on it but with all the drama at Fairfax at the mo it might be tricky. Just about finished the interior - just need to fix outside. best wishes to you and Spyder. Hoping to make it. Fingers crossed. dorian and Lydia. PS I know we've missed the discount but are there sites still available. And how much?

Haven't had a chance to a. register the van. b. book the site. Will get on to it this week. I am working fri and sat night. Can I still participate on Sunday and stay at the park till Monday? I'm assuming it's a pub hol?? Can't wait to ogle all those beautiful Sunnies next month, God willing!!! And have a cold one with you and the fabulous Spyder. Cheerio, Dorian

hi Alien,
That is one mother of a problem.
But unfotunately nothing you can do.
Probably a little bit lucky you discovered the problem when you did. If you had have fitted the motor to a registered vehicle, & then got pulled over for a roadside check you could have been stuck out in Hicksville with a DO NOT DRIVE on it.
I've known of that to happen.
I believe theres always a reason things happen, but sometimes it takes a lot of questions as to what good comes out of something.
My commiserations.

Ingrid. Old blokes & ladders don't mix . Sorry to hear about that Cliff.......hope you repair soon, and maybe we will see you there for a day.....Saturday is the day of display at the park/festival. Regards Humpty Alien.....I hope you know who you bought the motor off well enough to give them a reasonable roasting. I had a brother in law who used to sell motors like that....stopped doing it after 2 years in Silverwater

I bought it from my mate next door as it was his father inlaws who these days unfortunately doesn't remember ever owning a car, when he had a reco motor fitted way back he diidn't have it changed over at vicroads so I get stuck with it, I do have some papers to prove all this but I must wait for Vicpol Autotheft.....a lot of time and $ been spent on custom work ute and van for this weekend only to have a brick wall thrown at me 2 days before we left. you all have a great time. I feel all alienated now

Now theres a "first".. I have seen ladders fall off cliffs..... .. but never have i seen a cliff fall off a ladder .. Sorry Ingrid. Sounds like a nasty injury Now to the analysis of the accident... Q1:.....was it a fibreglass, aluminium or wooden ladder he fell from??? Possible sabotage by the bondwood owners possible failure of flimsy fibreglass to support weight Q2: Have they given him... Fibreglaas, aluminium or wooden crutches. Potential here for further injury.. F/glass unable to support weight . Risk of electricution in thunderstorm if using highly conductive aluminium crutches. Print this off and give it to Cliff to cheer him up while convalecing.. Give Cliff a "Get well soon" message from all of us here on www.vintagecaravans.com. Reddo

It's reassuring to know that a safety analysis has been done, by a safety officer of LMCC, and of great experience........... In trying to burn2 cars, his shed and himself. Doing a Van Gough on himself. Getting ones head stuck in a space reserved for spare tyres........ and Trying to reduce the digital count on one hand with a piece of brass bar. ;D
