Leigh,
When you have finished that Vauxhall you can offer it to me if you like, it would look much more authentic in front of Ol' 36 than a Yank Chev.
Are those wheels 16 inch three stud by any chance ?
Cobber.

Hi Cobber,
saw your reference to 3 stud 16" wheels elsewhere also. The wheels on the big Vauxhall are 6 stud 16".
Just had a thought, if your 3 stud pattern will fit a six stud wheel I cant see why you cant use them.
Suppose it depends on what type of wheel (disc, easyclean, wire, etc) and what width you want.
I will keep my eyes peeled.
cheers, Leigh.

Hi SM1 Bit of spit and polish ahead of you there . A rare car and a worthy project. Cobber.. i also have been searching for the thread about those 3 stud wheels. I had a look today and mine are 15". No reason you can't run my 2 - 15" rims with high profile tyres . And use that third rim i gave you as a spare. Average Joe wont know the difference..... oh ... thats right. 15's never came out until the 40s......Got to keep telling myself.. "Think Original" Reddo

Hi - my Dad owned this GY sloper for about 20 years before swapping it for a DX. I have some pics and know a lot about it’s history if Leigh is interested. I’d love to see it again too.

Hi Sportsman1, Now that Groberts has reminded us of these posts from 2007/8, you need to let the rest of us know too... Is the 'future project' still a 'future project', or have you quietly been making progress? Don Ricardo

Hi Richard,
the car is exactly the same as in the photos. I have collected parts, information, etc but it is waiting patiently until I finish my current project - a 1929 Vauxhall Coupe.
1929 coupe comes first as I have owned it for 33 years, I have only had the 1938 for 16 years!!!!!
I hope to have the 1929 done by 2021, then I can do the 1938 - perhaps it will be my retirement project.
Leigh.

Gday Leigh. There wouldn't be too many 38 convertibles in Oz would there ??
After a trip from Mount Gambier to Surfers Paradise a couple of weeks ago, I now have the parts I have been searching for to go onto my 55 Velox ute.
Cheers mate.
Dave

Hi Dave, there is one early spec car in Adelaide and my late spec one so only one of each left. Both in similar condition but hopefully will return to the road one day.
I have a 55 ute here if you need spares.
Leigh.
