Hi Jailbar! Why make all your friends and people who enjoy reading your threads suffer merely because the GRANDE POOBAH had a womenopausal day? ? We would all miss your input into this forum, so PLEASE don't sign off. Life is too short as it is. Ray

Hey Juicy TV Star
Does this mean ya gunna havta buy a bigger van to get your head in.
Just think you could have claimed royalties $$$$$$$$ everytime they show the ad . Would save ya headin down the local park on a friday night to sell bottles of that lighter fluid you brew up to make a livin'
I see a post elsewhere here today . chasing a sunliner to do a promo or something. These old vans are becoming celebrities.

hi All,
Its been a couple of years since I posted anything much about my rod.
When I was at NRMA Motorfest last year, a guy from a magazine took some pix of it & Groovin.
He chased me up over the next few months, & started doing a feature article on it.
Well it took until our Mooloolaba trip this year for their photographer to catch up, & the end result is in the current "Street Machine Fords" issue 15 Theres even a small picture & refence to the Purdon van Groovin.
Not too bad for a rod that does a lot of caravan towing, mainly long distance, gets used & shown regularly, & has been on the road since 97. Its last body touchup/repaint, & interior job was 5 years & 30,000 km ago.

Hi All,
well its over as a vintage van towcar, as it was just driven away after being sold on Ebay, for a lot less than I hoped for.
As I'm getting older I found it harder to drive, so I bought a VZ Holden Crewman V6 auto. Tows Deejay well, & I dont suffer pain like I did towing with the Hotrod.
So life progresses & hopefully all is fun again.

Hi Dennis and Sue I bet Boots is in the wardrobe at the moment cleaning out all the scarfs , freezer room jackets, ugg boots and beanies she use to wear when travelling in the breezy jaibar during the winter months. The Crewman V6 ute "Miss Piggy" ( I will let you explain the nickname) should tow any van easily... and in a lot more comfort than the rod. I came past your front gate the other Saturday arvo on the way back from Looking at Steves '29 Chev roadster...and noticed DeeJay out in the yard .. ?. Said to myself.. "I bet the rod is in behind it in the carport getting a detail ready for the new owner.". It wont be the same without the big green lump parked somewhere around the caravan park on the vint van runs. But time will soon heal any "wounds" you may have from selling it.... Before you know it the Kingsway will be up and hauling. Regards Reddo

S'pose you haven't got the long driveway anymore, so you don't need the Jailbar to tow the wheeliebin to the gate
A sad day indeed, but life goes on.....probably nuthin' wrong with wacking a turbo or 2 on the Crewman

Hi All, Good to see you did the sensible thing & passed on that hotrod Reddo, but would have enjoyed having a cuppa with you as you drove past here. Miss Piggy was originally a Victorian Police vehicle, frst registered early 2007, & lived its life out around Echuca & Cobram as far as we know. It had never been on the coast until the guy I bought it off moved to Ballina. Nice low k V6 auto, fitted with canopy, bed liners, heavy duty towing pack, mags, sports bonnet & guards, & generally nice & clean. We towed Deejay up to Tenterfield a week or so back. It towed at highway speeds without swaying, & it was so comfortable & quiet that it was easier to get rid of the cold noisy uncomfortable hotrod. So one part of life since1996 has ended, & another starts. Its all fun JBJ

G'day JBJ, I can well understand where you're up to, moving on to other things, life can change quickly at my/our age & dictate what we have to do also. The Crewman looks good & would have all the comforts, haven't seen one with a canopy, & it suits it very well. Must be a good feeling to have the Kingsway project so far done & finally get in & finish, I like what you have done very much & can't help admire your talent for doing such a comprehensive rebuild, It would be my ultimate dream to have a discreetly modified vehicle that you could still recognize for what it was, (which you have done) with all the modern upgrades of motor, brakes, steering & running gear. I never did body work, but managed the other stuff (limited), had a lot of fun with it too, now find it difficult to move & bend, must be getting old Look foreword to seeing the final bits being completed, you can't possibly post too many photos Cheers...........ST
