Wrote to the seller, he reckons the rego papers say Capricorn. He thought it might be a Globie and I notice he has changed it to that.

The caravan on Gumtree looks quite similar to one of the Franklin built Hawthorn caravans from the late 40’s and early 50’s. But the Hawthorns had a double cambered roof and a rectangular wheel arch, whereas the Gumtree van does not. The use of the beading to cover the joins possibly suggests a home build, or a small backyard manufacturer. The aluminum windows are certainly more modern than the design of the van, so perhaps they have been added later?
It’s definitely not a Globe caravan, although it’s not a dissimilar shape.
