Hi all, I'm new to this so hopefully I've posted in correct area.....I've recently purchased this van (I think Viscount Valiant?) but there is no chassis number on nearside of drawbar - only initials AF53 on offside of drawbar. Nothing can be found in cupboards / under draws either. It has a Millard sticker on it - but fairly sure not a Millard shape. Screwed, not riveted so I'm guessing timber frame. Embossed detail on ceiling. It has been suggested that drawbar may have been replaced but I've had a friend check and they're fairly certain its all original (he's a builder - not a caravan expert!). I'm needing a few parts and I would like to get her registered eventually so am a bit desperate to find out more info. Located in NSW. Hi, yes kind of but not a definite id as I couldn’t locate a build date inside. I was advised to post on this forum for some more advice / confirmation. Any more help appreciated!

Hi Fezza, Have a look at Steps 6 to 9 shown in these instructions for posting photos from Flickr: click here. Those steps show you how to find and post the URL for each of your photos so that they display in your forum post. If you’re still not sure how to do it, yell out and I’ll try and assist. Don Ricardo

Hi Fezza, Have you looked at the Viscount Valiant thread in the ‘Down History Lane’ section of the forum? You’ll find it by clicking here. I’ve compared your van to those to be seen on the Valiant thread and on that basis can confirm that your van is a Valiant caravan built sometime between 1965 and 1968. That’s based on the cladding and some of the features of the van (the front windows, etc). Have a look and see what you think. I’m happy to explain my thinking in detail if you want me to. I still don’t know what the serial number AF53 indicates, except that it definitely isn’t a Valiant or Viscount serial number. I agree with you that it is definitely not a MIllard, despite the sticker. I’ve also enabled the photos in your initial post so that they display in the post. Hope that’s OK? Don Ricardo
