I am pleased to extend an invitation to all vintage & classic caravan owners to gather in glorious Gippsland (Vic) in my home town of Korumburra. Friday 18th to Sun 20th October Please book directly with the park and make sure to tell them you're part of the vintage caravan gathering. Manager: Heidi Marshall - 0418 384 128 Korumburra Tourist Park 56 Bourke Street, Korumburra (03) 5655 2326 www.korumburratouristpark.com.au/This is a small "old school" park with great facilities set in 12 acres of tranquil parklands. Walking distance (if you're reasonably fit) to the main street, and only a short scenic drive to quaint country towns, beautiful beaches and stunning coastlines. Camp fires are permitted and we have the option to gather in the central rotunda which has a lovely open fireplace and gas bbq's The park is dog friendly but be warned, it is a council owned park and dogs must be on a leash at all times. For the sake of local wildlife and other campers' enjoyment, they have a "one warning then you're out" policy as per council regulations. The adjoining botanical park is a leash free area where your dogs can run around and explore. It will be cold and most likely damp so bring your winter woollies, electric blankets and rain jackets! but there's plenty of places in town to warm up with a coffee, a meal and a beer. Thursday night is trivia night at the Burra Brewery so consider coming early and joining in the fun. It's always a great night. I look forward to catching up with you all in person and fingers crossed this will be the first of many gatherings in this glorious part of the world. Cheers, Lisa Blanco

Hi Gidget, we called into the Caravan Park this morning, booked two sites, it looks like a nice old fashioned set up, looking forward to meeting some locals.

I popped in to the park last week and got a map which I'll upload if I can work out how to! In addition to the BBQ shelter which has a large open fireplace, we also have the use of several drums for smaller campfires at our caravan sites. They will let me know closer to the day if there is firewood available or if we'll need to bring our own. I can bring some from our farm. yve - I mentioned that you'd left a message but had no reply. Heidi (the park manager) is looking into it and has asked if you can please text or call her on her mobile phone 0418 384 128. Great to see a few more bookings

Hi all, For those of you arriving on the Friday, we'll have a welcome bbq dinner at the rotunda in the caravan park. Byo bbq food & drinkies. I'll provide some salads. Thinking of some options for Saturday night. There is a fundraiser on at the Brewery that night which could be fun but also a bit rowdy and $$$. You'll need to book directly. www.facebook.com/events/1510798479060369/I'm leaning towards the cheaper/quieter option of dinner at the Middle Pub. Let me know if you're interested and I'll book a table. Really looking forward to catching up with you all

We have 9 confirmed bookings so far which is fantastic! There's room for a few more though, so why not come along and enjoy wonderful Korumburra and the beautiful Gippsland surrounds. The crew from Postcards was here filming in town yesterday as part of their Gippsland special and our Southern Lights festival has been getting a bit of publicity too. It's all happening in The Burra!

Hi Gidget, I’ve Booked in from Thurs. Put me down for two for the trivia & the pub if we need to book for either. That's great news lilripper. I've booked a table for the pub on Saturday night for about 18 people but that's flexible. They'll pick us up and drop us off with the courtesy bus. I'm not aware of anyone else arriving on the Thursday so I haven't booked a table for the trivia but I'm happy to. It's a lot of fun. If anyone is coming Thursday please let me know asap.

Does anyone have any objection to me advertising the event on our local community notice board (facebook group) a few days before we arrive, with the idea of opening the vans to the public on Saturday afternoon? Of course it would be up to you if you want people to enter your van or just stick their heads in the door, or perhaps we should just keep it in the family so to speak. What's the general consensus on whether it's a good idea or not?
I'm also going to alert the local newspaper (The Sentinel Times) of our event and hopefully we'll get a few pics in the paper.

Hi Lisa, we don't have a problem with it. Wangaratta was our first meet and we enjoyed interacting with the public.
Can you also book us in the pub Saturday night. Thanks Nick and Kaye

We don't have a problem with outsiders viewing our van, we have done this on so many Vintage van occasions. But you will have to run this idea past the Korrumburra caravan park first. Some/Many park owners wont allow it due to security reasons for the other (new caravan owners),(snobs), who will be holidaying as well as us. Please add 2 of us to the Sat' pub night, if you haven't already done that. Less than 2 weeks to go, can't wait. Laraine and Ralph.

Trust me coronet, there aren't any snobs at the Korumburra CP. They're all down at Inverloch but I'll have a chat to the park owners. I've booked a separate area in the pub bistro that will accommodate everyone that's coming so it's all good. I estimate there's about 22 of us so far in 12 vans. Crossing my fingers for good weather.
