Our very cute mid 1950s Don caravan number 716 would love someone to give it some extra love and get it back on the road, after many years of being a spare room and extra storage in a backyard in Kennington, a suburb of Bendigo, Victoria. It's mostly original and is a 14 ft, four berth model 140, including a bath! Asking price is $8000. If anyone is interested in having a look, please feel free to contact me via message on here or call me on 0402629377
Sorry it's taken me so long to reply ncwcars, but I'm new to this forum and am slowly getting used to how things work. I'm asking $8000 and have amended my original post to reflect that and also added my mobile number if that's easier to contact me that way.
Hi again everyone! Our Don 716 is still for sale, but I realised that I hadn't taken any full length photos of the wardrobe and wash basin area and also includes the modesty curtain, that appears to be original and still very much in one piece!
Wow, they are still out there, what a project appears to just need paint & a front window to match.
Yes Mustang, it's in pretty good nick considering it's been in Mum and Dad's backyard since the 1970s! The front and the two other side windows need matching. I'm sure there are some other things too, but the majority of the interior is original. I have a couple of friends that would be able to answer any technical questions, as I am only a 'new chum' to that part of things. I have just found Nanna's journals " A Caravan Holiday" and "Where Our Caravan Has Rested" that began their travelling journey on the 17th of October, 1960 and am enjoying reading them. Please spread the word if you know anyone that's interested on taking over the history of this little gem!
