I have searched high & low for how to make a poll on proboards & it appears one cannot create a poll on this particular forum Can someone in admin verify this for me? you can only create a poll if you have administrative "powers". Conducting polls can be fun and useful for surveying a forum community's opinion about different subjects. If forum administrators have assigned the appropriate privileges, you will find an Add Poll button when creating a new thread. www.proboards.com/user-guide/posting/pollgeoff 'n jude (not in admin)

That is under forum guidelines & helpful hints, but the poll option I believe, applies to the whole board, unless you have special privileges!

Hi SGTL, Your post had me puzzled, because I knew that forum members had created polls previously. However, after checking, I discovered that 'Add Poll' was turned off for some (but not all) sections of the forum. I'm not sure if there was a reason for that, but it seemed to have been turned off almost on a random basis. I've now been through the various sections and made sure that the 'Add Poll' option is switched on for the following: - General - 2008 Onwards
- Vintage Caravan Runs and Events
- Vintage Vanners Hall of Fame
- Members' Photo Album
- Down History Lane
- Whatever
I don't think the 'Add Poll' option is required for the other sections of the forum, but if you or other members think otherwise, I'm open to discussion. You should now be able to press 'Create Thread' in any of the above sections, and then see the 'Add Poll' button at the top right hand corner of the 'Create Thread' box which opens up. Any member can create a poll. Note that you have to create a new thread to access 'Add Poll'. You can't create a poll when replying to an existing thread, even if you started the thread in the first place. Can you try setting up a poll please, and let me know how you go? Thanks.
