Changes relating to posting photos
Please note the following changes:
- Where to find info about posting photos on the forum: The threads which provide instructions on how to post photos on the forum via Postimage, Flickr, etc, are now contained in a separate sub-section in the 'Forum Guidelines & Helpful Hints' section near the top of the index on the forum Home page - here.
- Temporary deactivation of the 'Add Attachment' button* : Recently people attempting to use the 'Add Attachment' button to attach photos to their posts have been receiving a 'Forum is full' notice because we have exceeded our allowance for attachments provided by Proboards. We have attempted to solve that problem by reposting all the attachments via a photo hosting website, then deleting the attachments. Unfortunately Proboards only provided a partial list of the attachments taking us over the limit, and even after reposting the photos and deleting the attachments on the Proboards list, we are still over the limit. We have therefore temporarily deactivated the 'Add Attachment' button, since it isn't operational. Once we have solved the storage problem we can consider activating 'Add Attachment' again.
If you see anyone - particularly new forum members - struggling with how to post photos, it would be helpful if you could direct them to the relevant subsection and threads in the 'Forum Guidelines & Helpful Hints' section. There are links to this subsection provided at the top of every subsection thread list, as well as in the 'Current News' ribbon at the top of the Home page. However, people can very easily miss these items and need help with posting photos. This is where being a friendly community of like minded people comes in!

* Please also note that photos attached to posts using the 'Add Attachment' button have an expiry date and are not permanent. As a result any photos attached to posts prior to June 2018 have expired and no longer display, so if that has happened to your photos in earlier posts that is the explanation - it isn't that admin has deleted them! That means that even when the 'Add Attachment' button is available, it is preferable to post your photos via one of the photo storage websites as explained in the 'Forum Guidelines & Helpful Hints' section.
