Hi All, 2018 Application forms are now available on the Historic Leyburn Sprints web site for newcomers and those who have attended previously. Now in its fifth year in 2018, the Vintage Caravan competition has proven to be very popular with caravan and car enthusiasts alike. Vintage/Classic Caravan owners have the opportunity to camp behind the Leyburn Hotel and be on display for the two day event. This puts you in an ideal spot to enjoy the motor racing, market stalls and annual Show and Shine. It really is a fantastic weekend with food stalls, great pub meals, fire pits (wood available to purchase prior) and clean amenities. Please note the sites are not powered so bring your Winter Woollies. Roll in on Friday 17th August, display your caravan/car all weekend, best dressed and caravan competition on Saturday 18th (small prizes on offer). Sunday 19th is also a display day and you are welcome to camp extra nights by arrangement. Come along and relax in friendly surroundings, make new friends and catch up with old! Proceeds from the weekend go back into the Leyburn community Spaces are limited, so get your application in early. Looking forward to seeing some of you there!! Hi Everyone, Quick update on the 2018 Historic Leyburn Sprints. One month to go and we only have three sites left available (our sites are roomy and we can squash up a little if necessary). Just a reminder that if you were planning to attend you must book as soon as possible to avoid missing out. Any questions: phone Sandi on 0419492560 www.leyburnmotorsprints.com.au/vintage-vans Looking forward to seeing everyone in a few weeks for another great weekend!! Sandi

Re Fire Pots, Apparently personal camp fires will be allowed providing: 1)The fire is held in a raised "off the ground" contained unit. 2) The wind is within an approved velocity, otherwise there will be a total ban.

Thanks Mustang, this applies to campers in the public camping area only and is subject to change depending on the conditions. The vintage caravan area is privately owned and it has been decided that we will be permitted to have a communal fire pit area with two fire pits provided. I have organized firewood to be delivered to the site and will be asking for donations toward the cost from those who wish to enjoy the warmth in that area. Gas patio heaters are allowed at your caravans but must be positioned at least 3 metres away from vans and awnings etc. Obviously this all depends on whether a total fire ban is necessary but at this stage it's all looking good See you there. Sandi

Thanks Kim, I'm glad you and Graeme had a good time again this year!! A big thank-you from me to all the vintage caravan owners who braved the cold nights and remote location to be a part of this fantastic event. Your participation is truly much appreciated by myself and Bob and of course the tiny town of Leyburn. Special thanks to Vicki and Terry who convoy with us and help set up prior to the event and John and Julie also for the extra hands Sandi
