Hi all, Just joined the forum in hope to get some info on a vintage van that I recently purchased. It has an old sticker on the front which tells me its a viscount ambassador, its 15 ft long, has dinette style semi circular seating around the table, which is studded, double bed at the rear, and bunks at the front. has A37466 near the tow hitch, 2 largeish windows to the right of door. van is white with a large orange stripe going through the middle of the paint. thats about all I can tell you other than the interior is in very cood condition. interested to know what year, approximate value or any other info anyone may be able to help me with. no photo's yet but I can take some today. thanks.

G'day greggo, and welcome to the forum! A chassis number of A37466 does indeed belong to a Viscount Ambassador. The chassis number is decoded as follows: A = Ambassador model 3 = 1973 7466 = the 7,466th chassis built in the Viscount factory during 1973. This would be around about Sept that year. Approximate value of caravans is very difficult to determine, and is something we avoid getting into on the forum. Pluck any figure out of the air, and some people will agree, while others will have a vastly different opinion. We have a sister forum for caravans built in the 1970s (such as yours). Click on this link to take you there: ditzygypsy.proboards.com/cheers, Al.
