I have been contacted by the organisers of this event to advise that unfortunately free camping at the showground will not be available this year. A bit of a glitch between the organisers and council which I am sure will be worked out by next year. Having Vintage Caravans attend is new to the Wheels organisers and I am sure that in the future they will be more aware of what is desirable to attract interstate people to travel to attend. They have asked that any vans attending be onsite 7:30 - 8:00am as they are hoping to set up a special display of vans in the centre on the oval before cars start to arrive. If it makes the difference to anyone interstate whether you attend then let me know and I will try to find somewhere for you to park for the night. Sorry but this is out of my hands. Koala

I would just like to note my appreciation for those who attended today. We had six vans which generated much interest from the public on a hot sunny day. I think that the organisers were a bit overwhelmed by the number of cars which attended and the organisation went a bit awry but we seem to have made the most of it anyway. A personal thankyou to Annalise and Paul (Wildbrumby) for making the effort to bring her van all the way from Batlow to Canberra.

Just want to say a big thank you to koala for inviting us along to this event. It was really good to catch up with everyone again. The vans were greatly admired and inspected by the public and a lot of positive feedback and great comments on our beloved vans. Fantastic day. You can never get away without having mishaps. We left Mannus, Saturday morning, after a few hold ups, so didn't get on the highway till about 2pm, the heat of the day. I thought, gee it seems to be getting hotter, and you guessed it, the aircon in my car decided to pack it in. The things we get used to!!! On the way home, once we left Tumut and started the climb into the hills of Batlow, you could feel that crisp cool air, bliss, and the scent of apples. Yes, apple picking is full on at the moment. Then on to Mannus where my van will stay until the Nationals. Some pics of the day.

It was lovely to catch up with you both again, it was a great day, glad I brought the van, although I had to sort a couple of things in the tow bar setup on the Val when I got home lol. Looking forward to seeing you again at the nationals. The photos are fantastic.
