G'day All, I am a novice in caravans & caravan info, so I hope I have created a thread in the correct board! In the family we now have 3 Franklin Arrow caravans. We know very, very little about them so are on a big learning curve. I have contacted Concept Caravans who tell me that the chassis number is welded on the A-frame - just where on the A-frame? The only welding I have seen (in a very scant, short look et the caravan) was "Franklin Engineering" (from memory). We hope to get the chassis numbers for all 3 this w/e, so that might give us a bit of a start. Each of the Arrows has slightly different features (bedding, windows etc..), so we will be hoping to get some help/info. Look forward to learning a bit more, Arthurf

Hi Newbiecaravan, Welcome to the forum, and great to hear about your collection of Franklin Arrows. I guess if you a few of them we should refer to them as a 'quiver of Arrows'? Regarding the serial numbers, you should be able to find them on one of the arms of the A-frame. If you click on this link, you'll see an example of what you're looking for - raised welded numbers. There are other examples on the same thread. The Franklin Arrow model was introduced in 1970, so you'll probably get more help from the Classic Caravans forum which covers caravans built between 1970 and 1979 - not that you're not welcome to stay part of this forum though. If you look at this post on the Franklin thread in the 'Down History Lane' section of this forum here, you'll see a little bit of info about the history of the Arrow model and also some info about Franklin serial numbers that may apply to your vans, depending on how old they are. The post I just referred to talks about the Franklin serial numbers from 1974 onwards. Prior to that the serial numbers followed the pattern of 'XXXX-Y' where 'XXXX' is a 1 to 4-digit number representing the build number of the van in a given year, and 'Y' represents the last digit of the year. So a van with the serial number of '1234-0' would be the 1,234th van built in 1970. Hope that helps. Don Ricardo
