I am writing this post 'not' as an advertisement or to sell anything!
So I completely understand admin if you need to delete this post if necessary.
I am writing to ask for any help
or
for any information that could help a good organisation.
Carryonvic -is an organisation that is helping homeless veterans get back on their feet and also to get a roof over their heads!
It is a wonderful organisation and if you search them in your web browser;
I am sure that you will see for yourself the great work that these dedicated men and women are trying to do.
The reason for my post Is that there are a lot of veterans that took an oath and fought for our country, that now find themselves homeless.
I am not saying that they are homeless because of any one reason or another.
It could be because of possibly not being properly diagnosed with a medical condition upon returning from service or an injury sustained from the atrocities that these men and women had to see and face during their time at war or in active duty.
I am not personally sure of every individual case and it could be those reasons or something else that may have led to other issues, which in turn resulted in these veterans now facing homelessness.
All I know personally is that there are a lot of veterans that now find themselves in the position of not having a place to sleep.
As I said these veterans were in a battle, fighting for our country and way of rights.
I am fortunate enough to have a lot of veteran friends that would be there for me whenever I needed or If I put my hand up and asked for help, they would be there in a second.
As a medically retired first responder, that is sometimes quite a lot.
I can personally say I know that these men and women fought hard for our country and
I have seen for myself the hardships and life crippling devastation that they now face-it is awful and heartbreaking to see.
Therefore if I can help in any way, I will.
So what I am asking on behalf of a friend that plays a huge part in the Carryonvic organisation is;
If you or someone you may know of,
has any new
(not likely I know)
or old caravans of 'any'
sort that may be 'given' away...... yep, you read that correctly! 🤞
Would you please be able to drop me a line with your contact details.
I can pass this information on to the men and women at Carryonvic;
These dedicated individuals will put in the hard labour, with the help of local businesses,
in order to get the van in a liveable condition.
I'm doing up a 1963 Franklin Freeway;
so believe me when I say that it doesn't have to be the ritz......just a dry place for people in need to sleep .
Sorry for my speech of righteousness and I apologise to the admin.
I write this in the knowledge that it is for a good cause and I am hoping that there may be people out there that help.
I know that it is a lot to ask, but I thought I'd post in the hope that someone may know of any caravans that will need work but could at some point be used for accomodation and housing purposes.
I personally think it is important to look after the people that were there to look after us, especially now when they need it so badly.
I have posted this on a lot of the caravan Facebook pages that I am a member of, but thought I would ask here as all of you have a wealth of knowledge and come from all over this lovely country. Cheers and Thank you in advance just for asking the time to read this diatribe of a message that I composed.
Kind Regards,
Abbie ( alee4583 )
