A good friend & forum member rang me yesterday to tell me of a photobucket fix that allows you to view other peoples photos anywhere. I have installed the middle one, 'photobucket embed fix' & it seems to have worked! chrome.google.com/webstore/search/photobucket%20fix?hl=enI certainly don't recommend continuing to use photobucket to post photos, but hopefully this could save a lot of time for those who have been re loading their existing photos from a different host. (Very time consuming as those who have done it will know).

hi sgtl
i tried it out and all the images that were replaced by the pb notifications are back.
some comments have said that it only lasts for 3 or 4 days but we'll see how it goes.
at least now i can easily see what pictures were in what positions in my posts if i decide to restore the threads.

I reloaded 15 pages of my reno on the Classic Caravan forum, it took several hours to download separate images (PB blocked album downloads) to my PC then upload to Flickr, then load to the forum. I did it because the reno took a year & PB was not going to ruin the thread.

Dang, didn't realise photobucket had now gone to money making in the extreme. No wonder I have been having such troubles copying photos - silly me was ignoring the pop ups - get so many of them to upgrade, buy this or what ever just didn't read it. Lucky for me I haven't put up as many as some, but now can't view a lot of the pics on older threads etc in this and other forums :-(

howdy all i realize that the commotion about photobucket has just about slipped into oblivion and that most members have found an alternative service for loading their photos to this and other forums, but it seems to me that most of us may have missed shesgotthelook's fix for the "photobucket notification" replacing all the photobucket photos across all the forums and blogs that you visit. this fix re-establishes all the photobucket links that anyone/everyone has used, so that all photobucket pictures can be seen again on the computer that was used to apply the fix. once the fix has been established, a small 'p' will appear next to the bookmark star on your internet address bar, so it is easy to access if the fix ever needs to be re-applied. i don't know if it works on i-pads or i-phones but it certainly does work on computers. (those of you who intend replacing pb photos in your posts will still need to do that if you want everyone who hasn't used the fix to see them.) give it a go and like magic, all the photobucket pictures come back to life again. chrome.google.com/webstore/search/photobucket%20fix?hl=enuse the one called "photobucket embed fix" does this show the photobucket notification? if it does, apply the fix and just like magic, the photo will appear (you may need to refresh) and so will every other photo in every post. thanks sgtl, geoff 'n jude

It does appear that the fix expires after some time. I have just installed the first one on the above link & that has rectified it for the moment.

Hi Humpynvan and others, Whether the "photobucket fixes" mentioned above work for you will depend on what internet browser you are using. If you are using Google Chrome, the following link should provide a fix: chrome.google.com/webstore/d...flicjjgj?hl=enIf you are using Firefox, the link is: addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...ix/?src=searchHowever, if you are using Apple Safari, Opera or another browser, I don't know of any fixes at this point. If you are using a non-Apple computer, you may want to try accessing the Vintage Caravans forum with Chrome or Firefox with the relevant fix. Both browsers are easy to download onto your computer and use, and it is ok to have several browsers on your computer at once. (I have been using both Firefox and Chrome at the same time to restore the photos in the Down History Lane section - without the fixes at this point - because I need to be able to identify which photos have to be restored.) I don't know if you can use Firefox or Chrome on an Apple Mac computer or not - may be an Apple user can tell us? Don Ricardo

My computer is Apple Mac running Google Chrome. I think you have to choose one relating to what program you are running.

Good oh. I think with some installations you have to re-start your computer for them to take effect. I don't know if clearing your history will wipe some of them? All of these photobucket fixes appear temporary but I guess it doesn't take much to re-install them. Same goes for the disabling of Viglink, you have to re-do it every so often.

No, I don't. It's on there but I used to have a microsoft set up so stuck with what I knew & certain work & SES related things need Chrome. Running Outlook Email is pretty rubbish though but I don't know how to let go!
