Oh dear, how very sad! Geoff, you were such a tower of strength for this forum and have gone through some pretty tough times yourself while on here, which would have weakened a lesser man. I still remember with fondness you and Gaye's hospitality when I dropped into your home during my times in Victoria. Thanks for all you've done. Big hugs to you, Gay. Ray

I was catching up on all the missed posts while we had been away overseas when I suddenly and shockingly came across this one of FireFiters demise. At first I thought it was a cruel joke or hoax, but it soon dawned that sadly it was not. I was really looking forward to seeing him at the next nats especially as we missed the last ones due to my own health issues. [Tears welling up] I really didn't have a lot to do with him over the years, however I had spoken to him a while ago, he was amazing, he knew everyone on the forum and took great interest in what they were doing with their vintage vans. A true "gentle" man. He sure will be missed and the Fishers: King Fisher, Wiffie, and The Prince send our condolences to Gaye and his family. R-I-P

just checked the vintage caravans mail box and have received the following email from reddo: As everyone has commented on the forum he was an unsung hero when it come to organising the Vintage Van Nats and ensuring that things ran smoothly during the events. I have lots of fond memories of chatting with him both on the phone and at the Nats over the years. The look on his face when he collected the old 1928 Eugowra van was priceless....A grin from ear to ear with plans to marry it up to his 28 Chev. A dedicated Chev lover and Roadhaven enthusiast.
He leaves behind a big gap to fill in both the moderator duties on www.vintagecaravans.com and organiser role for the Nationals. I hope someone with at least half his ability and skills can be found to carry on the good work.
R.I.P Geoff.

Saddened to here of the passing of Geoff, while I had only met him a couple of times at Bendigo some year back, it was always good to read his posts. Will be missed. Condolences to his family. Shane

I haven't been on the forum for some months and almost missed this news. How terrible for Gaye and her family.
Geoff was a good friend and enthusiastic advocate for all vintage vans, and particularly his beloved Roadie.
Condolences from the Blixt family for this loss.

I attended Geoff"s service today. Great to see a large number of V C F people in attendance including some from interstate.
It was a very moving service which I am sure Geoff would have approved of.
Again sympathies to Gay and family, he will be missed by many.
Leigh.

So sorry to hear about the loss of "The Firefighter". He will be greatly missed on and off the forum. He always had a hearty welcome to new comers and all his hard work at that most thankless of tasks (trying to please everyone at The Nationals) Geoff was a legend! Vale Firefighter.

We were shocked to hear of Geoff's passing recently. Liz & I have been away and I spoke to Geoff early July along the way. What a great bloke he was and we were so looking forward to catching up at Wangaratta - will not be the same. We have spent 3 great Nationals in Mildura, Cowra and Broken Hill with Gaye. Geoff and all the other caravan enthusiasts. He will be sadly missed. Our sympathy to Gaye and family. Frank and Liz.

Just shows what happens if you don’t follow the forum religiously (like I used to)😟.....I was deeply shocked to come across the thread about the passing of firefighter, some 2 months ago. As has been already stated, Geoff was a stalwart of the forum and a friend to many who met him in person as I did at Mt Gambier in 2008 and later at Cowra. My thoughts and prayers go out to Gaye. RIP Geoff....upstairs chewing the vintage car & caravan fat with Trev Roberts and Dennis Watts.😢
