I'm back having another go at my grandparents caravan, my dad had a heart attack a while ago so not in the best of shape to finish the caravan himself.
Initially from looking at various pictures thought it to be a viscount ambassador, dad believed it was a Franklin, have recently found something on it that identifies it as a hilandale, they all seemingly have the same body shape was there badge engineering going on or something?

Hi Holdenutechick,
Good to see you're back, but sorry to hear about your dad. I trust that he will recover enough to enjoy the van when it's done.
There was badge engineering happening in the caravan industry from the 1940's on to the present day, but not as it happens a sharing of models between Viscount, Franklin and Hilandale. Franklin and Hilandale were rebadged under other names, but not as each other, if you get my meaning. In addition, Franklin and Hilandale did produce some models which were quite similar in style (but Viscounts and its Ambassador and Valiant derivatives were always reasonably distinctive compared with other vans).
If you have found something that identifies your van as a Hilandale, then I'd say that's what it probably is. Unfortunately the photo you posted on another thread has expired, but if you'd like to post another couple of photos, we can probably confirm the vans identity.
To post photos you can try doing so using the 'Add Attachment' button in the 'Create Post' window. If that doesn't work, you can do so via Flickr, or if that seems a bit tricky you can email some photos to me and I'll post them for you. You can find my email address by clicking on my forum name in blue in the panel to the left of this post.
